Description

The company is building a new robotics business focused on autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and drones for warehouse, industrial and adjacent markets. It has 200,000 staff across 48 countries and works with almost all car manufacturers on autonomous driving, driver-assistance, connected vehicle and smart city technology. Its sensors, systems and software already appear in nearly every passenger car.

The team is hiring an experienced project manager to plan, coordinate and deliver robotics and drone hardware and software projects within the Adjacent Markets Robotics and Drones organization.

You will work with engineering, product management, autonomy, localization, safety, manufacturing, operations and commercial teams to deliver projects across the full product lifecycle, from concept to deployment. The role calls for strong organizational, technical and communication skills and the ability to run complex cross-functional initiatives.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can push execution forward, manage schedules and risks, keep stakeholders aligned and help bring new robotics products to market.

Responsibilities

  • Build and keep up detailed plans, schedules, milestones and deliverables for robotics and drone projects.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to set scope, priorities, dependencies and resourcing.
  • Keep projects on time, on budget and within technical, quality, safety and business requirements.
  • Monitor progress, spot risks and issues early, and drive them to resolution.
  • Run project reviews, status meetings, design milestones and decision-making sessions.
  • Guide projects through concept, prototype validation, productization, launch and deployment.
  • Make sure work follows internal development processes and project management standards.
  • Act as the single point of coordination across engineering, product, operations, manufacturing and commercial teams.
  • Keep objectives, schedules and deliverables aligned across stakeholders and external partners, including global teams where needed.
  • Report status, risks and key decisions to leadership and team members.
  • Lead issue escalation and resolution to keep projects moving.
  • Support customer-facing development work, including reviews, status updates and technical discussions.
  • Turn customer requirements into workable project plans and help manage customer commitments and timelines.
  • Build working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Help with proposals, project planning and business growth work as needed.
  • Maintain project metrics, dashboards, status reports and KPI tracking.
  • Track performance against schedule, budget, quality and delivery goals.
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid methods, whichever suits the work.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement that makes delivery more effective and predictable.
  • Keep project documentation current and ready for audit.
  • Help build and maintain budgets, cost tracking and resource forecasts.
  • Track spending and support budget reporting.
  • Work with functional managers to match resources to project needs.
  • Track deliverables and resource use to support successful delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years managing engineering, product development or technology projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating cross-functional teams on complex technical work.
  • Experience delivering hardware, software or integrated system projects.
  • Solid grasp of project planning, schedule management, risk management and product development processes.
  • Track record of juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders at once.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and relationship skills.
  • Comfortable working within a matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency with project management and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Preferred: master's degree (MBA, MS or equivalent) in engineering, business or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum or equivalent project management certification.
  • Preferred: experience in robotics, autonomous systems, drones, aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial automation or related fields.
  • Preferred: experience supporting hardware-software integrated product development.
  • Preferred: familiarity with manufacturing readiness, product launch and production scaling.
  • Preferred: knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance and customer development processes.
  • Preferred: experience supporting customer proposals, project estimates or business development.
