Description

The company makes industrial automation technology and helps manufacturers become more productive, sustainable and agile.

This role manages projects in the motor control center business, covering hardware engineering design, third-party purchased items and post-shipment engineering services.

You report to the NEMA PMO Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering staff who design and deliver complex projects, and the technical team for design, implementation and testing of complex systems.
  • Set up and maintain project schedules, including forecasts, and hold regular status meetings.
  • Start, plan, run, control and close every project, covering kickoff, budget, schedule, risks, communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Track project and business metrics: milestone on-time performance, cycle time between milestones, change order revenue, project margin, shipment forecast, quality, warranty cost and customer experience.
  • Manage scope of supply and process every change order, while keeping order margins where they should be.
  • Check all designs against applicable codes, customer specifications and design practices, and define and monitor the business and industry standards that apply.
  • Review applications, assess risks and build plans to reduce them.
  • Track total project costs against scope and change orders, and create and forecast those costs in SAP.

  • Advise on high-level design issues for projects led by others.
  • Build your knowledge of motor control centers and related products such as drives, starters and feeders, and of the Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, and Food and Beverage industries.
