APS Senior Project Manager

Description

You will lead complex development programs that span several functions and support the product portfolio and the company's strategic goals.

The role calls for strong project and program management skills, solid stakeholder engagement, clear communication, and a track record of getting work delivered across engineering groups spread around the world.

You will run several projects at once, covering software, electronics, PCB work, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, service support, product management, training, and customer documentation.

You will also help raise project management standards by leading the PMO, shaping governance and standards, driving ongoing improvement, and bringing AI-enabled project methods into daily practice.

Responsibilities

• Own several interconnected product development projects, following each one from start to finish.
• Manage schedules, budgets, resourcing, KPIs, and strategic commitments so they line up with the product roadmap.
• Build working relationships with leaders in engineering, product management, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
• Run governance forums and steering committees, and move stakeholders toward agreement in a matrixed setting with open communication.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in software, embedded systems, electronics, PCB design, mechanical engineering, and industrialization, and coordinate with service, training, and documentation teams.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams located in different regions, build a strong performance culture, and help recruit and grow project management talent.
• Apply Lean and Kaizen to improve work, track quality metrics such as DPU, DSI, DDE, and P90, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Bring AI tools into planning and delivery for predictive scheduling, risk identification, and process automation.
• Use Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, and Smartsheet with skill.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of project or program management, including delivering complex hardware and software projects with several disciplines inside a program structure.
• Ability to lead through matrixed structures and influence people you do not manage directly.
• Solid grasp of project management frameworks and continuous improvement principles.
• Optional: PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or Agile-related certification.
• Optional: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Optional: prior experience setting up or leading a Project Management Office.
• Power BI skills are highly desired.

Conditions

For Canadian-based roles, the pay range is $145,700 to $195,700 CAD.

Actual pay depends on factors such as experience, education, and skill set.
