Description

The company is a professional services firm with a large Data Centre business, and it is expanding that business in Germany. The role is in the Data Centre team in Düsseldorf.

You will oversee a hyperscale data centre project for a global technology client, covering pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close-out.

The client base is strong, and there are chances to lead strategic commissions and high-profile projects within the business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the project's overall cost, schedule and budget.
  • Manage mid-voltage substation projects.
  • Manage the General Contractor and other directly contracted vendors and consultants.
  • Track critical milestones and manage them closely to prevent schedule slippage.
  • Run client meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Identify what drives construction costs, then monitor and report on that data.
  • Advise on engineering decisions that affect cost and budget while design-build changes happen during construction.
  • Review payment requests.
  • Log events that could lead to a claim, acting on the client's behalf.
  • Keep project information flowing between the team and the client through regular meetings and written updates.

Requirements

  • A construction-related degree or academic qualification, such as in construction, project management, engineering, surveying or architecture.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience on construction projects. Experience on Data Centre construction is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong, professional communication and organisation skills, with the ability to handle several tasks at once.
  • A team-oriented attitude, self-motivation, and willingness to support other groups and projects when needed.
  • Fluent English and at least B2 German.
  • Ability to work on-site.

Conditions

The role is based in Düsseldorf and requires on-site work.

Equal opportunity employer: all applicants are considered regardless of background.

Benefits

  • The company promotes a flexible working environment that supports work-life balance.
