Description

Lead complex manufacturing programs for the Advanced Manufacturing practice, based in the Carolinas B+P footprint.

You will turn a client's production goals into layouts, material flow plans and a deliverable capital program, then hand that work to the company's design and design-build teams.

The work covers semiconductor, defense, aerospace, energy and nuclear fuel, battery, robotics and microprocessor sectors.

The company is a Fortune 500 global infrastructure consulting firm with over 50,000 staff and $16.1 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025, working across water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Act as project manager on manufacturing facility projects of $100 million or more, owning scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and client satisfaction.
  • Be the main point of contact between clients and the design and design-build teams.
  • Convert production intent into workable layouts, material flows and capital projects, using Lean where it adds value.
  • Run pursuits, fees and negotiations for design and design-build work, and manage subcontractor contracts and scope.
  • Oversee project finances, including NSR, margin, forecasts, invoicing and change orders.
  • Bring process and equipment needs together with architecture, MEP, process utilities and civil work.
  • Direct industrial engineering scope covering layout, material flow, throughput and automation. Ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma is highly desirable.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, coordinate architectural and engineering disciplines, and share work with the company's design centers.
  • Lead commissioning, start-up and turnover, including tool installation and production ramp-up.
  • Build EHS and constructability into the design, and enforce Safety for Life standards on site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or a related field, plus 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years managing design or design-build delivery of manufacturing facilities. Demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education may be accepted instead.
  • Proven leadership on manufacturing or industrial projects of $100 million or more.
  • Demonstrated architecture and engineering (A/E) delivery experience.
  • US citizenship is required because of the nature of the job.
  • Preferred: PMP and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Preferred: master's degree or MBA.
  • Preferred: 15+ years across manufacturing operations and A/E, EPC or design-build consulting.
  • Preferred: active A/E license (PE or RA), or ability to obtain North Carolina and/or South Carolina registration.
  • Preferred: regulated-sector experience (DoD, DOE, NRC, FAA, ITAR) and federal design-build delivery.
