Responsibilities

• Learn the contract terms and the technical scope of the project in depth.
• Set the overall project plan and direct the work, identifying key milestones and priorities.
• Prepare and review budget estimates and staffing needs for the agreed scope and schedule.
• Assign people, materials and equipment to use them efficiently, keep work on schedule and stay within budget.
• Help the team meet cost and schedule targets, spot likely problem areas early and act to keep each phase's critical milestones on track.
• Present project status reviews to the client.
• Prepare or review cost and risk analyses and extra work claims for the client.
• Build and keep a strong working relationship with the client.
• Make sure the project meets the client's safety and quality assurance standards.
• Take on other duties suited to the role as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of project management experience.
• Working knowledge of safety and security, Buy America regulations, train control systems, passenger vehicles, communication systems, traction electrification systems, and operation and maintenance of rail systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A bachelor's degree.
• English proficiency.
• Desired: prior project management experience on rail industry projects.
• Desired: experience with customer management, scheduling, planning, critical path analysis, change order management, risk management, cost estimation and contract negotiation.
