Description

The company aims to build billion-dollar potential businesses in the green economy, with a focus on decarbonisation across mobility, energy and digital.

It is a venture incubation team that builds end-to-end decarbonisation businesses for customers and society.

The social innovation arm draws on over 100 years of operational technology experience and over 60 years in IT to deliver AI and IoT solutions in transport, manufacturing and energy.

The wider group reported FY2024 revenues of 9,783.3 billion yen, with 618 consolidated subsidiaries and about 280,000 employees worldwide.

Depots are often the starting point for electrification: the team studies what infrastructure is needed, deploys software to charge as much energy as possible in live operation, and stays involved once the depot runs, working with charger and vehicle partners and carrying out root cause analysis.

You will join the Operations Team, where the work is rooted in project management but covers deployments, bids, site activity, service improvement and customer-facing technical understanding.

The role suits someone early in their career or building experience in project management, who is curious, technically minded and happy working across teams. Deep specialism is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support customer projects, taking on your own workstreams with senior backing.
  • Plan work, track actions, check site readiness, prepare customer packs, manage handovers and record lessons learned.
  • Support site visits with technical, electrical and service specialists, keeping actions, evidence and follow-ups clear.
  • Prepare inputs for bids and new scope, covering assumptions, risks, dependencies, lessons learned and evidence.
  • Build an understanding of charging faults, service issues and customer context.
  • Improve service efficiency with AI tools, templates, trackers, repeatable processes and clearer reports.
  • Support governance, action tracking, stakeholder preparation, communication and escalation.
  • Capture project learning for products, services, partner integrations and future solutions.
  • Work with the programme, service delivery, product, data science, commercial, sales and energy business teams.
  • Help keep site work safe through visit planning, hazard awareness, readiness checks and clear escalation routes.
  • Get involved in fleet electrification projects, including travel to assess and onboard bus and commercial vehicle depots.
  • Work on charge management software, battery analysis, recommendations and customer service performance.
  • Explore energy topics such as site capacity, BESS, solar, variable loads and future optimisation.
  • Contribute to partner integrations across the wider eMobility ecosystem.
  • Take part in bid development, customer problem-solving and new-scope exploration.
  • Learn from live service, including why charging sessions succeed, fail or underperform.
  • Apply AI and automation to delivery and service processes, including battery and operational analysis.

Requirements

  • Show an interest in project delivery, operations, technology, engineering, energy, transport or sustainability.
  • Have a technical mindset: understand systems, ask good questions and turn complexity into clear actions.
  • Communicate with confidence across customers, technical experts and commercial colleagues.
  • Stay organised with actions, risks, dependencies, evidence and follow-up.
  • Be curious about software, infrastructure, customer operations and service performance.
  • Be willing to take on varied work rather than staying in one lane.
  • Use Microsoft 365 confidently and show interest in Copilot, AI tools or automation to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Hold a relevant degree, apprenticeship or placement year, or have early-career experience.
  • Project, customer delivery, systems or engineering experience is helpful, though potential and attitude matter most.
  • Ideal candidates bring a number of the points above.
  • Success means owning smaller projects and keeping them moving without losing detail.
  • Success means making sure customer, internal and site actions are clear, tracked and completed.
  • Success means structuring new bid and scope inputs so they are evidenced and easy to review.
  • Success means contributing to repeatable, efficient service and delivery processes.
  • Success means building technical and operational confidence while escalating decisions appropriately.
  • Success means communicating clearly and early, keeping customers, partners and internal teams aligned on actions, risks and next steps.
  • Success means bringing energy, curiosity and constructive challenge to the team.
