Description

The company develops medical technology and works to improve healthcare outcomes and patient experiences, with a global workforce of over 72,000 people in more than 70 countries.

This is a project manager role in the equipment installation group, reporting to the Head of Project Management Operations. The role is based in Southwestern Ontario and covers projects mainly in Ontario and Manitoba.

You will independently lead several projects of moderate to high complexity, working with sponsors, process owners and subject matter experts to build and roll out implementation plans and project tools, set metrics and improvement targets, bring projects to completion, and check how well solutions perform. You will manage project resources within scope, schedule and budget, and be ready at all times to report and present project status.

Responsibilities

  • Run several projects at once, each valued between $1 MM and $5 MM, in a busy setting.
  • Build and maintain the MS Project schedule, and take corrective action when work falls behind it.
  • Forecast revenue accurately for Sales and Finance, including site status: contractor tender and award, schedule, contractor start, permits, last call status, site readiness and site delivery date.
  • Visit project sites to check status, resolve issues and work constructively with the customer, contractor and MIV. Plan rooms with the Siemens Planning Department, the Siemens Account Manager and the customer.
  • Work from site-specific drawings and act as the main contact for the architect, consultants, contractors, MIV, the customer, and internal and external Siemens project resources.
  • Oversee site preparation and readiness, plus equipment production, delivery, design build and installation, and schedule application training.
  • Prepare and submit all project paperwork accurately, including the Last Call letter, Mogli checklist, MS Project schedule, nonconformance cost forms where applicable, change orders, clinical handover, site readiness checklist, storage letter where applicable, quench pipe acceptance checklist and pressure drop calculation.
  • Keep all Bridge dates current and make sure factory delivery dates match project needs.
  • Manage logistics from the warehouse to the site or to storage.
  • Keep the Last Call letter accurate and manage its impact with the customer, Sales, Finance and the factory, so everyone knows the related dates.
  • Make sure kickoff, regular customer, closure and handover meetings happen, and that they are recorded and archived.
  • Make sure customer requirements are met from pre-job through kickoff and handover to the service group.
  • Help make the rollout of Syngo and IBD products smooth for the customer.
  • Coordinate all project resources, including the delivery and rigging team, mechanical installer, commissioning FSR and applications specialist, through regular site visits.
  • File all project documents accurately in the required project database.
  • Escalate issues that need support to meet deadlines.
  • Cover for or assist department staff, and take on other duties as needed. Duties may extend beyond this list, and reasonable accommodations will be made where possible given business conditions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management or healthcare.
  • PMP certification or a similar designation.
  • 5 to 10 years of project management experience with external, client-facing healthcare medical imaging work.
  • Experience with MS Project and other Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with construction drawings and practices is essential.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to off-site project locations and a valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness to work longer hours and weekends when needed.
  • Travel for roughly 50% to 75% of your time at project sites across Ontario, with occasional trips to Manitoba.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint.

Conditions

Expect to spend roughly 50% to 75% of your time travelling to project sites in Ontario and occasionally Manitoba.

The base is Southwestern Ontario.

Expected pay is $88,000 to $126,000. Starting pay depends on factors such as location or market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications.

Only candidates under consideration will be contacted. The company is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to accessibility under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.

Apply through the company's external or internal careers site. Do not send a CV by email; create a profile in the talent community instead. Be wary of scam recruiters posing as the company, and check postings on the official careers site.

Benefits

  • A flexible benefits plan and health and wellness coverage.
  • A Defined Contribution Pension Plan and matching contributions to a Registered Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid time off including vacation, company holidays, sick leave and parental leave, subject to eligibility.
