Project Manager Cost Out - Procurement

Description

This is a full-time Project Manager Cost Out role in procurement.

The goal is to find and deliver lasting cost reductions across the whole supply chain. You will work through detailed market reviews, technical product assessments, supplier base optimisation and skilled negotiation, contributing directly to the company's profitability and competitiveness.

The role sits in the Power Systems business unit, which designs, supplies and services power and propulsion systems based on gas and diesel engines and electrified hybrid systems for marine and infrastructure customers worldwide. Its work centres on digitalisation and electrification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and track cost-out projects.
• Build project plans with milestones, resourcing needs and savings targets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams from engineering, quality, logistics, finance and production.
• Find new global procurement markets with major savings potential.
• Run detailed market studies, benchmarks and side-by-side cost comparisons.
• Apply international best-cost-country sourcing strategies.
• Analyse product specifications, manufacturing methods and material costs.
• Prepare should-cost analyses and total cost of ownership models.
• Identify technical improvements and design-to-cost options together with the engineering team.

Requirements

• Hold a degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, supply chain management or a closely related field.
• Be willing to travel internationally.
• Already be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship. The company cannot sponsor an employment visa or take over an existing sponsorship at this time.
• Preferred: several years of experience in procurement, cost-out management, value engineering or technical project management.
• Preferred: a solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and product cost structures.
• Preferred: strong analytical skills, including should-cost analysis, cost modelling, TCO assessment and data analysis.
• Preferred: experience leading international projects and working across functions.
• Preferred: very good English. German language skills are a plus.

Conditions

Full-time position, mainly based in a flexible office setting, following a standard Monday to Friday schedule under the company's flexible work policy.

Work locations are Novi, MI or Aiken, SC. The listed location is Graniteville, SC.

Relocation assistance will be provided where applicable.

Global grade level 10.

Base pay range: $84,351.20 to $137,070.70 per year.

Pay for remote employees is based on their state of residence and may differ from the posted range.
