Project Development Engineer

This is a Project Development Engineer and Pre Sales Engineer role on the GCOE team, focused on growing the company's footprint and customer base through technical and commercial proposals.

You will use building automation and controls knowledge to build competitive bids that meet customer specifications, handle technical clarifications, estimate project costs and run several tenders at once to win new regional business.

Responsibilities

• Write bid and proposal submissions from customer requirements and technical specifications.
• Draft RFIs and answer clarification questions across the tender process.
• Join site surveys and bid clarification meetings to collect accurate project details.
• Ask suppliers and sub-contractors for quotes and check them.
• Estimate costs for in-house products, engineering effort, labor and project management.
• Handle several tenders at the same time, keeping each one competitive and on schedule.
• Liaise with clients on specifications, technical points and aligning proposals.
• Support the controls service and retrofit business, keeping pricing and technical compliance accurate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in building automation, controls, pre-sales, estimating or retrofit project support.
• Strong technical knowledge of CPO/CPM retrofit offerings.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls design optimization for retrofit projects.
• Experience preparing bids, RFIs, quotations and cost estimates across multiple projects or tenders.
• Negotiation skills and experience managing vendors.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Visio.
• Strong spoken and written communication.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of the UAE controls service and retrofit business.
• Valid UAE driving license.
• Results-driven, persistent, self-motivated and focused on the customer.
• Experience with the company METASYS or equalenet products.
• Arabic language skills.
• CEM certification.

Conditions

Hiring salary range is $89,400 - $134,250, set by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity and market data.

The posted range is the target pay; candidates whose background goes beyond it are encouraged to apply.
