Description

The AI Engineering team builds AI-driven technology that changes how infrastructure and buildings are designed and engineered, with the aim of cutting waste and CO₂ and making the built environment more efficient and sustainable.

The team is growing its delivery group for mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) products. The role suits people who want to shape how projects are delivered.

The company operates globally across water, environment, energy, transportation and buildings, from advisory and planning through design, engineering and construction management. It is a Fortune 500 firm with FY2025 revenue of $16.1 billion and more than 50,000 staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support the company's AI design platform by helping to shape product development, checking that engineering outputs are sound and working with customers to turn their needs into usable deliverables.
  • Apply your MEP knowledge to review designs and calculations, convert client requirements into deliverables, manage stakeholder relationships and set priorities so projects are delivered on time.
  • Test product features and give engineering-led feedback to developers. Find and help fix defects, and confirm that design outputs meet quality standards before they go to clients.
  • Promote the use of AI and new technology, apply digital tools to improve delivery, and help introduce working methods that raise engineering efficiency and quality across the company.
  • This is a hands-on, varied role for someone with credible MEP knowledge, strong attention to detail and curiosity about how technology can change existing practice.

Requirements

  • An HNC, HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline, plus proven experience designing and or reviewing MEP systems.
  • A broad understanding of mechanical, electrical and public health systems, and the ability to review design information and judge whether MEP calculations and outputs are suitable.
  • Close attention to detail, with experience reviewing engineering deliverables, running quality checks and spotting errors, inconsistencies and software defects.
  • Clear communication, including the confidence to run meetings, gather requirements, manage expectations and build good relationships with clients and technical teams.
  • The ability to juggle several priorities, timelines and stakeholders to deliver work on schedule.
  • Comfort working in a 3D BIM environment and using digital tools, including AI and large language models (LLMs), to raise productivity and improve delivery.
  • A proactive team member who is keen to learn, can adapt when priorities change and wants to keep improving how work gets done.
  • Preferred skills: Proficiency in BIM platforms such as Revit, Solibri and similar tools, with a solid grasp of model-based design workflows.
  • Preferred skills: Experience preparing and validating Revit models for digital and AI-enabled workflows, including managing spaces and rooms, checking asset classification and metadata, and supporting Revit to IFC conversion.
  • Preferred skills: Exposure to a range of building types and project sectors, and experience across different international settings.
