Description

The company's Space line of business is hiring a Product Manager to set day-to-day product direction for a team.

You will link mission requirements, user input, customer priorities and engineering delivery so the team ships useful capabilities through iterative Agile development.

Responsibilities

  • Define and keep current the product vision, roadmap, release priorities and outcome measures, based on customer mission goals, operational intent and CONOP development.
  • Turn stakeholder and user needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and ready backlog items, and set priorities with the Government Product Owner and mission stakeholders.
  • Run product work across Agile development teams, including backlog refinement, sprint and release planning, demos, user acceptance and feedback cycles.
  • Work with mission users and subject-matter experts to uncover needs, check workflows, shape UI/UX concepts and confirm that delivered capabilities work in operations.
  • Work with the Technical Lead, the Systems Engineering and Integration Lead and engineers to handle interfaces, dependencies, technical feasibility and integration readiness.
  • Guide delivery of spacecraft orchestration applications, enterprise systems, mission workflows, advanced analytics, data science and AI/ML capabilities where they serve mission outcomes.
  • Monitor outcomes, user feedback, risks, decisions and dependencies, and report status and recommended priorities to Government partners and program leadership.
  • Support verification, validation, release readiness, handover to operations and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • Required: Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Required: 5+ years in product management, product ownership or mission software delivery, including leading Agile teams.
  • Required: A proven record of turning mission or user needs into product roadmaps, prioritized backlogs and buildable software requirements.
  • Required: Experience shipping mission-critical software for DoD, Intelligence Community, space or similarly demanding operational settings.
  • Required: Hands-on work with Agile methods, iterative release planning, backlog management, prioritization, acceptance criteria and user feedback loops.
  • Required: Ability to lead mixed teams covering software engineering, data and analytics, systems integration, test and mission operations.
  • Required: Strong spoken and written communication, including briefing customer stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Desired: Product Owner or Agile certification such as CSPO, Product Owner/Product Manager or an equivalent credential.
  • Desired: Past leadership of comparable Space programs supporting NRO, USSF or similar organizations.
  • Desired: Master's degree in a relevant technical, business or mission field.

Conditions

Full-time, regular employee position with up to 10% local travel.

Based at the company's facilities in Sterling, VA; Denver, CO; or King of Prussia, PA, contingent on contract award.

Funding is required and the role may not be filled right away. Similar roles are regularly open, and applicants may be considered for other openings.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no set end date.

Proposed salary range is $114,600-$252,100. This is the national average because the role can be filled in more than one location. Final pay depends on location, federal labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant experience, skills, education and certifications.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education and time off.
  • Flexible time off that lets you take the time you need.
  • Access to learning resources for career development.
  • Support for balancing quality work with personal life.
