Description

The company designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations that deliver mission-critical data, and it has been in business since 2021. It runs a Silicon Valley facility for spacecraft manufacturing and payload integration, and its work covers everything from climate monitoring to national security.

You will be the product manager for one defined area within a larger product line. That area could be a specific capability of the spacecraft platform, a piece of the bits-to-ground data path, a workflow on the on-board high-performance compute stack, or a feature set tied to an instrument. You will handle the daily product work: discovery, requirements, prioritization, release coordination, and feedback from customers and internal mission teams.

You will report to a Director of Product or the VP of Product and work alongside senior PMs. This is a Level 4 individual contributor role. You will own your area from the start and get mentoring and backup from senior PMs on decisions that reach past its boundaries.

The role is hybrid, with three days per week on-site at the Mountain View, CA office.

Responsibilities

  • Own the backlog, PRDs, and release plan for your area. Write requirements, acceptance criteria, and open questions clearly enough that engineers can build without guessing.
  • Work with engineering leads to scope, sequence, and weigh trade-offs in each release, and help the team decide what to cut, defer, or simplify.
  • Track delivery, flag risks early, and keep stakeholders updated with clear written status notes.
  • Help shape the roadmap for your area under the senior PM or VP of Product, bringing data, customer input, and your own view.
  • Run interviews with external customers, internal mission teams, and partners. Turn what you learn into concrete requirements and priorities.
  • Instrument your product, monitor usage and performance, and base what you build next on evidence.
  • Follow won and lost deals and customer escalations in your area, and pass structured findings to product and engineering.
  • Help make productization calls for your area, such as packaging, tiering, SLAs, documentation, and deprecation, alongside the senior PM over the wider area.
  • Keep configuration control and change management clean for everything your area releases to production.
  • Work day to day with software, hardware, and operations engineers as a strong product partner.
  • Give Go-To-Market teams technical documentation, sales material, RFP input, and customer demos for your area.
  • Work with Marketing on messaging and content for your area when needed.
  • Join the wider PM team on cross-area dependencies, shared conventions, and roadmap alignment.

Requirements

  • 3, 5 years of product management experience shipping technical products, ideally in software, hardware, or data systems.
  • A track record of turning customer and user needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria, and driving them to release.
  • Strong written communication across PRDs, decision memos, release notes, and status updates that people can act on.
  • Enough technical depth to work through trade-offs with engineers and to read a design doc or API spec and ask sharp questions.
  • Solid execution judgment: you can run a backlog, keep a release on schedule, and know when to escalate.
  • Willingness to learn a deep-tech domain, and openness to feedback and coaching from senior PMs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Nice to have: exposure to remote sensing, geospatial, Earth observation, or related deep-tech data work.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with space systems and LEO constellations, including spacecraft platforms, instruments, ground segment, or satellite data pipelines.
  • Nice to have: experience with configuration control, change management, or safety-critical or mission-critical products.
  • Nice to have: prior work in a startup or high-growth technology company.

Conditions

The base salary range is $190,000 - $210,000. Final pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location, as assessed during interviews. The role also includes a competitive equity grant and a full benefits package.
