Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and their partners, designed to run in demanding environments.

The Minerva software team builds the command, control and edge autonomy software used across several uncrewed platforms and handheld ground stations. The group is spread across locations and combines software engineers with people who work on vehicle control and sensor payloads.

This role sits in the Minerva product organisation and reports directly to the Lead Product Manager. The goal is smooth cross-platform operation and multi-sensor integration in every deployment.

You will help shape the product strategy for bringing Minerva, from C2 systems down to edge stacks, onto different uncrewed platforms and sensor payloads. You will turn multi-domain operational needs and hardware limits into clear, actionable engineering roadmaps. Success means coordinated releases across platforms, AI features running on edge assets, dependable sensor integration and stable platform software in every domain.

Responsibilities

  • Write Concepts of Operation, system and subsystem product requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Turn customer requirements and operator feedback, together with the company's product vision, into scalable Minerva releases for different uncrewed platforms and handheld control systems.
  • Set metrics and acceptance criteria for cross-platform stability, data latency and sensor fusion reliability.
  • Set expectations and priorities for AI systems that run under edge constraints.
  • Work with the Lead Product Manager, Product Owners, Technical Product Managers and Engineering Leads to weigh technical trade-offs across edge computing and C2 capabilities.
  • Work with system engineers and hardware teams on each platform so Minerva edge software performs at its best.
  • Track sprint progress with engineering leads and product colleagues, and clear blockers as they arise.
  • Support compliance with military communication standards and protocols such as SAPIENT, TAK and SitaWare.
  • Make sure the Minerva stack and development processes meet industry audit requirements, such as AQAP.
  • Plan tests and validations ahead of time with IV&V, Product Safety, InfoSec and Configuration Management, so releases ship quickly without weakening safety or security.

Requirements

  • You have at least 3 years of technical product management or product ownership experience in software-heavy or complex systems environments.
  • You have supported complex software integration projects across hardware devices, sensors or edge computing stacks.
  • You understand software architecture, APIs and data integration patterns well.
  • You have experience with foundational AI systems, for example in computer vision or localisation.
  • You have a proven record of writing product specifications, grooming backlogs and writing user stories for agile engineering teams.
  • You collaborate well across functions and can connect hardware, software and operational views.
  • You speak and write English fluently.
  • You have experience in defence technology, C2 systems, robotics or autonomous unmanned vehicles.
  • You are familiar with sensor integration (radar, EO/IR, LiDAR) and defence protocols (TAK, SAPIENT).
  • You have worked on software products built for degraded or offline tactical networks.
  • You have worked on hardware and software integrations.
  • If you want to help build European defence technology and see yourself in this description, send your CV in English.

Conditions

You must be eligible to obtain and keep the security clearance required for this role. Details are given during recruitment.

Because the work is in the defence sector, this clearance requirement applies to all candidates.

Benefits

  • The software and systems you build directly protect personnel and support European and national sovereignty.
  • You work alongside leading experts in autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The team runs fast with a collaborative culture, and bold ideas get backing from serious R&D funding.
