The company is hiring a senior Principal Software Product Manager to shape and lead the next generation of its consumer notebook software experiences.
You will set long-term product direction and also run complex, cross-organization initiatives from concept through launch. You will work with engineering, design, commercial, platform, and executive stakeholders to ship customer-facing software at global scale.
The role suits a product leader who is comfortable with ambiguity, understands both technology and business, and wants to shape how software, hardware, services, and operating system platforms fit together across the consumer portfolio. Experience with platform software stacks and the constraints of modern operating systems and ecosystem experiences is a strong fit.
Responsibilities
Own major software initiatives end to end, from discovery and framing through delivery, launch, and iteration
Set and promote a product vision that connects customer needs, platform strategy, and the company's long-term business goals
Spot emerging technologies, platforms, and business models and turn them into scalable product opportunities
Lead market, customer, and ecosystem research to guide product strategy and investment choices
Work with engineering and architecture leaders on sound technical trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term platform health
Coordinate work across matrixed teams, including engineering, UX, commercial, marketing, partnerships, legal, and operations
Act as a senior product voice in roadmap reviews, executive forums, and cross-division planning
Use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to keep refining product direction and measure results
Talk directly with customers, partners, and internal teams to gather insights, test strategy, and drive outcomes
Mentor other product managers and help raise product standards across the organization
Set product strategy for software that spans operating system, platform, and application layers, balancing customer needs with long-term platform change
Work with platform, architecture, and engineering teams to assess operating system capabilities, ecosystem trends, and technology investments that could create differentiated experiences
Define requirements and roadmaps covering cross-platform interoperability, device-to-device experiences, cloud services integration, and changing user workflows
Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, operating systems, or a closely related technical field
10+ years in software product management or closely related roles
A record of delivering large-scale, customer-facing software products

Can move forward through ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational complexity
Have worked effectively in resource-constrained or fast-moving environments
Have defined products or platform capabilities that depend heavily on operating system services, platform APIs, or device ecosystems
Understand modern operating system architecture, platform services, application frameworks, security models, and software lifecycle concerns across Windows, Linux, Android, or similar environments
Have worked with engineering teams building platform software, OS integrations, developer frameworks, device services, or ecosystem experiences
Preferred: experience with mobile software ecosystems, smartphone platforms, or connected device experiences
Preferred: familiarity with Windows, Linux, and Android platform roadmaps, developer ecosystems, and application models
