The PS Engineering, Integrated Solutions and Ecosystem team coordinates innovation work with external partners and connects their roadmaps to the company's internal engineering execution.
The team leads innovation initiatives with partners including Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Microsoft and Google, moving work from proof of concept to market-ready features.
Responsibilities
Lead the Microsoft strategic partnership across the company's business units and vertical solutions, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver exclusive programs and advanced features to markets and customers.
Own a program that spans several functions and project teams, from idea stage (where the scope is not yet defined) through to delivery, with set timelines and resources.
Serve as the main contact between Microsoft and the business units and IHV partners, lining up technical roadmaps with engineering teams across disciplines.
Guide engineering work on proof of concepts, coordinate with multiple parties, and make sure what is learned gets captured and shared.
Bring new technologies and quality initiatives into projects so solutions reach the market.
Set key milestones, critical deliverables and other program support needs to secure a successful outcome.
Lead and influence work across all Pan-HP business units so each area is represented and solutions follow the HP way.
Report program progress, escalations and issue analysis to key stakeholders and executives.
Turn complex program data into clear progress reports, risk analyses and escalation paths for HP executives and partner stakeholders.
Review program plans and give concrete feedback to improve the quality and efficiency of the program management framework.
Work with senior leaders from key partners and HP's Personal Systems engineering and business units, plus Pan-HP teams, often in a high-visibility role.
Work through complex technical areas and ambiguous situations, using independent judgment to set project goals that fit HP's long-term vision.
Requirements
Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science or an equivalent technical field.
Typically have 6-10 years of experience.
Have designed and built project and program planning tools to create, manage and track results.
Be a self-starter who can lead and influence a varied team and work across cultures and time zones.
Communicate well, both written and verbal, and bridge highly technical teams with management and support teams.
Bring strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Present program and technical plans, proposals and results, and negotiate options with senior management, translating engineering detail for non-technical business and executive leaders.
Have a record of innovation, such as creating new business, technical, engineering or manufacturing processes.
Show business acumen and experience running all parts of programs, including briefing executives, leading or working with scrum teams, negotiating with business groups and directing matrix teams and resources.
Have a solid working knowledge of modern operating system architecture and how the OS, firmware, drivers, silicon, security, power, memory, connectivity and application/runtime layers interact. Be able to turn new OS capabilities into platform requirements and product opportunities.
Show real curiosity about emerging technology, learn on your own through study and experiments, and form reasoned views on opportunities, trade-offs and likely impact.
Preferred: working knowledge of local and hybrid AI architectures, covering AI models, inference runtimes, CPU/GPU/NPU acceleration, memory needs, model lifecycle management, security, power and performance trade-offs, and cloud or local execution.
Preferred: familiarity with emerging agentic AI architectures, including orchestration, tool invocation, agent identity, isolation, permissions, context management, local or cloud execution and OS integration.
Preferred: experience defining representative workloads and analyzing performance, responsiveness, memory, storage, power, thermal and compute behavior across CPU, GPU and NPU architectures.
Preferred: experience guiding engineering teams through proofs of concept that validate new technologies, architectures and user scenarios.
Core competencies: clear, concise and persuasive communication; a strong focus on delivery and market impact; fast learning as markets shift; enough technical depth to shape engineering decisions and challenge assumptions; and skill at influencing without authority across organizational boundaries.
