Description

The company is a specialty logistics firm that designs supply chain programs for customers and moves and stores time- and temperature-sensitive products. It has been operating for more than 50 years and is part of the company.

The IT group is positioning itself as a strategic partner to the business rather than a support function, building technology that is innovative, integrated, reliable, secure, and shaped by real operational needs.

Technology changes become hard when several systems, teams, and dependencies must move together. Initiatives that look well defined can grow complicated once risks, constraints, and competing priorities appear.

As Principal Project Manager, you will bring focus, structure, and disciplined execution to that complexity. You will own one large, complex initiative plus one to two medium or smaller ones, and must get each delivered on time, within budget, and with the intended results.

Responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end delivery of the most complex cross-functional technical programs, defining program structure, dependency management, and accountability across engineering and technology workstreams.
  • Write the technical program management standards, delivery playbooks, and governance frameworks used across the program management group.
  • Make scope, resource, and investment trade-offs that protect enterprise delivery commitments, working through ambiguity and clearing systemic blockers.
  • Get executives and cross-functional leaders aligned on program strategy, risk posture, and delivery direction through structured reporting and clear recommendations.
  • Spot systemic execution risks and delivery gaps, and fix the underlying processes and operating mechanisms so delivery becomes more predictable.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, business information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, technical project management, business systems analysis, application delivery, or a related field.
  • Preferred: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Preferred: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile or Scrum certification.
  • Preferred: ITIL, SAFe, or another service or delivery framework certification.
  • A solid grasp of business principles, process modeling, and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Structured analytical and problem-solving skills for complex, cross-functional technical delivery work.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, and the ability to build trust with clients, engineering, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to present strategies, plans, and technical information clearly and in a way people can act on.
  • Ability to juggle several initiatives at once with strong organization and attention to detail in a fast-moving setting.
  • Familiarity with enterprise application environments, platform architecture, and web or e-commerce ecosystems, and the ability to apply that to scalable, cost-effective solutions.
