Description

The company provides connectivity hardware and software for rack-scale AI infrastructure, combining standards-based and custom solutions for hyperscalers and ecosystem partners.

The Scorpio Product Applications team helps customers and internal teams deploy high-performance PCIe fabric solutions in AI systems, working across hardware, firmware, validation and customer-facing groups on interoperability problems and on the next generation of PCIe Gen 6 and Gen 7 connectivity, UALink and UCIe.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and ecosystem partners to define architectures and deployment requirements for Scorpio-based PCIe firmware.
  • Create reference designs, application guides, technical presentations and system-level materials that help customers adopt the product.
  • Turn customer use cases into firmware requirements, integration plans and prioritized technical actions.
  • Lead system bring-up, debugging and interoperability work across PCIe hosts, BMCs, GPUs, NICs, storage devices and other high-performance endpoints.
  • Work with firmware teams to define, build and validate device configuration, traffic routing, boot flows, telemetry, recovery and field-debug features.
  • Investigate link training, enumeration, performance, error handling, traffic and stability issues using protocol traces, logs and lab instruments.
  • Build and maintain firmware, validation and automation workflows that speed up debugging and improve readiness for release.
  • Work with firmware, architecture, design, validation and FAE teams to resolve complex issues from prototype through mass production.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, share risks and recommendations, and close issues with clear ownership and measurable results.
  • Shape customer decisions on product enhancements and ecosystem interoperability plans for next-generation AI connectivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related technical field.
  • 8, 12 years of experience in product applications, firmware development, systems engineering, platform validation or a related semiconductor area.
  • Solid understanding of PCIe switch firmware and PCIe architecture, including link training, enumeration, configuration space, error handling, performance and system interoperability.
  • Experience developing or debugging firmware: you can read code, interpret logs and work closely with firmware developers.
  • Hands-on experience with system bring-up, lab debugging, protocol analysis and root-cause investigation across complex hardware and software stacks.
  • Strong written and spoken communication, able to explain technical issues to both engineers and customers.
  • Preferred: experience with PCIe Gen 5, Gen 6 or Gen 7, PCIe fabric switches, retimers or other high-speed connectivity products.
  • Preferred: familiarity with UALink, UCIe or emerging scale-up and scale-out interconnect architectures. This is a plus.
  • Preferred: experience writing validation plans, firmware test strategies, lab automation or customer-facing technical materials.
  • Preferred: background supporting AI servers, accelerator platforms, hyperscale infrastructure or high-performance computing systems.
  • Preferred: demonstrated ability to lead unclear, cross-functional technical problems in a high-growth environment that moves quickly.
