Description

The company offers rack-scale AI infrastructure built on purpose-built connectivity products, working alongside hyperscalers and ecosystem partners.

Its connectivity platform combines CXL, Ethernet, NVLink, PCIe and UALink semiconductor technologies with its own software suite, linking components into flexible systems for scale-up and scale-out.

Alongside its standards-based line, the company builds custom connectivity architectures for customers with specific infrastructure needs.

The firmware team gives the company's products their main differentiating features, so firmware is treated as equal in weight to hardware. Team members often speak with customers directly to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop firmware and microcontroller subsystems for the company's SoC and systems products.
  • Build the firmware that delivers the product features that set the company apart.
  • Work with customers to understand what they need from the firmware.

Requirements

  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, with a strong technical background in electrical engineering.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience supporting or developing complex SoC or silicon products for server, storage and/or networking applications.
  • Have developed firmware that runs on on-chip microcontrollers, using C-language SDKs that run on host CPUs and embedded microprocessors.
  • Have worked with logic designers to build and test hardware-software interfaces on complex SoCs.
  • Manage several changing priorities and work with little guidance or supervision.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial, open-minded approach and a can-do attitude, acting quickly with the customer in mind.
  • Have a high level of proficiency in C, with C++ also accepted, including writing C-based SDKs and firmware.
  • Use Python for scripting.
  • Design, implement and write unit-level tests.
  • Know software build environments, including gcc and make.
  • Be comfortable with developer workflows, git or another source control system, code reviews and CI.
  • Have hands-on experience with server, storage and/or networking equipment.
  • Understand SoC interfaces to various hardware blocks, on-chip memory interfaces and similar interfaces common in chip design.
  • Preferred: Have developed firmware using an RTOS.
  • Preferred: Have developed boot-ROM and worked in pre-silicon environments such as simulation and emulation.
  • Preferred: Have experience with secure boot flows, including authentication, attestation and standards such as DICE and Caliptra.
