Description

The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week in a company office.

The company runs an edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect and analyze data and applications, then act on what they learn.

The team designs, delivers and supports private cloud and engineered systems for demanding enterprise environments, including mission-critical ones.

The goal is to move support from reactive work to proactive, AI-enabled engineering: stronger reliability, sturdier integrations, more automation, and problems fixed before customers feel them.

Success means becoming the go-to escalation point for the hardest technical issues, making the factory-to-cloud ecosystem more reliable and scalable, cutting repeat incidents, building AI tools that boost engineering and support productivity, and running a more proactive, automated operating model.

The ideal person builds things, solves problems and keeps improving them. They spot patterns, automate repetitive work, challenge slow processes, and treat AI as a practical tool for smarter systems, faster decisions and better results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the investigation and fix of difficult production problems across applications, APIs, cloud services, integrations, data pipelines and factory systems.
  • Find root causes and implement lasting fixes that hold up at scale.
  • Build and maintain integrations that link factory environments, cloud platforms, internal systems and third-party applications.
  • Write automation for onboarding, diagnostics, deployments, monitoring and support to cut manual work.
  • Use AI and LLM tools to sharpen troubleshooting, incident response, knowledge management and day-to-day efficiency.
  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Product and Customer Success on high-impact business problems.

Requirements

  • Required: at least 10 years in software, sustaining, integration, SRE, production or a similar engineering role.
  • Required: strong troubleshooting across cloud platforms, distributed systems, APIs, integrations and live environments.
  • Required: experience with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Go, Java or similar languages.
  • Required: experience with databases, monitoring, logging, networking and automation.
  • Required: strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: manufacturing, factory, IoT, edge or operational technology experience.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Preferred: familiarity with MQTT, OPC UA, SCADA, MES, PLCs or similar technologies.
  • Preferred: Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability and modern DevOps practices.
  • Preferred: experience with AI, LLMs, agents, RAG, vector databases or AI-powered engineering tools.
