Description

The company puts people first and works with clients on advice they can trust. It offers an award-winning culture that invests in your personal and professional growth.

This is a senior individual contributor role. The Principal Architect sets architecture direction for enterprise and solution work and makes sure technology designs fit business strategy, standards, and roadmaps. You will lead complex architecture work, mentor architects, and give the Manager, Architecture & Design evidence-based feedback on performance and development.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for enterprise and solution architecture. Set direction, review deliverables, and keep the work rigorous, practical, and tied to business strategy.
  • Create enterprise architecture principles, reference architectures, roadmaps, patterns, and standards that shape technology investment and delivery.
  • Lead architecture for complex initiatives that span the enterprise, and run design reviews to confirm solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable.
  • Make calls across application, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, identity, security, and emerging technology, including hard trade-offs and architecture exceptions.
  • Work with business teams, delivery, engineering, operations, vendors, and domain architects to produce designs that fit together and can be built. Push forward modernization, reuse, rationalization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Coach and mentor architects. Give the Manager, Architecture & Design evidence-based input for performance reviews, development plans, and work allocation.
  • Show the company's core values of integrity, respect, and collaboration in all of your work.
  • Understand clients' industries, challenges, and opportunities. Clients should describe you as positive, professional, and reliable with high-quality work.
  • Focus on delivering effective service to clients and recommend improvements that help.
  • Help build an inclusive, engaging team that develops, keeps, and attracts talent.
  • Take part in adopting digital tools and strategies that make the workplace more innovative.
  • Keep building your expertise through learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive enterprise technology experience, including substantial hands-on enterprise and solution architecture work in a large, complex organization.
  • A record of leading architects as a senior technical authority, using technical credibility, influence, coaching, mentoring, and design governance.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise and solution architecture, with broad knowledge of cloud, applications, integration, identity, infrastructure, security, data, AI, and modern software delivery.
  • Experience developing and critically reviewing complex designs on technologies such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, integration and messaging platforms, event-driven architecture, and API management.
  • Strong systems thinking, sound technical judgment, and communication skills. You can explain complex decisions to senior leaders and delivery teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or ITIL are an asset.
