Presales System Engineer, Territory - PACA (Remote: Marseille or Aix-based)

The company is a publicly listed (NYSE) data platform business that began in storage and now covers much more. It closed fiscal 2026 with $3.7 billion in revenue, its first billion-dollar quarter, and growth is accelerating into FY27.

Its strategic focus covers hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers and the wider AI ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• You will join the French commercial team as a presales systems engineer for the PACA region, working from Marseille or Aix-en-Provence.
• You will support several Account Executives across a varied book: large regional accounts where you set the technical direction, public sector bodies in health, social services and heavy industry, and many mid-sized companies that need quick, practical answers.
• You will own the technical side of each relationship in your territory, from discovery and architecture through demos, proofs of concept and closing the technical points, on the company's data platform.
• In large accounts, you will generate activity, uncover new use cases and build opportunities yourself rather than waiting for them.
• You will present services and consumption models, including subscriptions and storage-as-a-service, to IT and finance stakeholders, focusing on business results rather than individual hardware.
• You will work day to day with Account Executives and channel partners in the region.
• You will write the technical content of RFP and RFI responses.
• You will contribute to a national SE team that shares knowledge and helps win across districts.

Requirements

• 5+ years in field presales, systems engineering or solutions engineering, ideally covering a territory or several accounts.
• Solid general infrastructure knowledge: compute, virtualisation, networking and data protection, and how they work together in live customer environments.
• Experience selling services, subscriptions or consumption-based offers, with the ability to explain both the commercial and the technical case.
• A senior, self-directed way of working: you take initiative, drive activity in large accounts and manage your own schedule.
• Curiosity: you pick up new technology quickly and enjoy finding new uses for it.
• Based in or near Marseille or Aix-en-Provence, with a driving licence.
• Fluent French and professional English.
• Valuable, not required: enterprise storage experience (SAN, NAS, object, data protection). A dedicated onboarding quarter covers it.
• Background at an infrastructure, data-protection or open-source vendor, or at a services company.
• Existing relationships with IT teams in the PACA region.

Conditions

Home-based in the Marseille or Aix-en-Provence area.

Expect to spend around half your time or more with customers. Travel stays within the region, so you are home each evening, with occasional trips to Paris for team meetings.
