Presales Engineer

The company builds and connects technologies that help protect people, property and places, with a focus on public safety.

The Presales Engineering Team supports the sales organization with technical expertise across critical communications, video security and command center products.

You will work alongside sales, service, engineering and technical support staff to shape solutions for first responder, government and non-first-responder customers, including US federal civilian and law enforcement agencies.

You will own the technical design of each solution from start to finish.

The team works on mission-critical technologies at varying levels of complexity: public safety grade mobile voice and data networks, advanced mobile devices, public safety mobile broadband networks and devices, integrated command and control software, and mobile and fixed video solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document customer requirements.
• Develop technology strategies.
• Design end-to-end system architectures.
• Write proposals.
• Give technical presentations to both internal and external audiences.
• Demonstrate equipment and software, including configuration and testing.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree, ideally in engineering, electrical engineering or computer engineering (strongly desired), or 3+ years of experience in sales, pre-sales, project management, engineering or public safety.
• Explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues and outside stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain any security clearance a government contract requires.
• Understanding of wireless fundamentals and public and private voice and data architectures, such as APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G and FirstNet/Frontline (highly desirable).
• Knowledge of cloud security (FedRAMP), IP networking architecture, protocols and security (highly desirable).
• Familiarity with RF coverage prediction, microwave design, traffic and capacity modeling and related tools (an asset).

Conditions

Work from the Linthicum Heights, MD office at least 3 days a week.

Travel up to 25% of the time.

Base salary range is $70,000 to $100,000 USD.

Pay within the range depends on job-related knowledge, skills and experience, and the final offer is based on the individual candidate.

This is an experienced-level role with no relocation support.
