Description

The company is one of the world's largest IT distributors. It supplies technology to partners and their customers, with a focus on customer needs.

Early-career and experienced candidates can both apply to build a technology career alongside the company's vendor network and colleagues.

The company is hiring a networking pre-sales consultant and solutions architect. The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

You will give technical guidance across several areas to partners and customers.

You will take part in pre-sales work, solution design, proof-of-concept (PoC) delivery, demonstrations and technical enablement for the networking vendors the company carries. You will explain complex security solutions clearly and show their value against current networking problems.

You must be available to travel to the field when needed, helping partners see how vendor products can reduce evolving threats.

If you do not meet every requirement, you are still encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Give technical solution expertise to partners and their end users during consultative sales.
  • Own the technical side of sales deals and manage it through to close.
  • Work with end users and resellers to shape multi-technology solutions that fit their needs.
  • Run training sessions, webinars and workshops that build networking skills in partner and internal teams.
  • Lead hands-on PoCs and live demonstrations that prove what networking technology can do.
  • Help internal and external sales staff produce technical quotes within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Keep your technical knowledge, certifications and accreditations current across Data Centre, campus networking, network security, network isolation, failover, private networking and 5G.
  • Work with vendors on product roadmaps, integration options and technical strengths.
  • Advise partners and customers on networking best practice, compliance and risk reduction.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with key customer and partner contacts.
  • Provide sales and technical enablement to internal sales teams and external resellers.
  • Answer partner questions quickly and deliver strong pre-sales support.
  • Use the Centre of Excellence (CoE) to back sales work and grow partner engagement.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Telecommunications, plus certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, Azure or AWS Networking, and specialist security or wireless certifications.
  • Ability to design and support resilient, secure networks using routing and switching, SD-WAN, cloud networking, segmentation, firewalls, VPNs and private wireless networks.
  • Knowledge of network security frameworks, Zero Trust principles, disaster recovery, business continuity and regulatory compliance is highly valuable.
  • Experience in automation and software-defined networking, including working with tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform and network management platforms.
  • At least 8+ years of enterprise networking experience, including designing and implementing complex, large-scale network and connectivity solutions.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with products, tools, architectures and integrations, plus strong problem-solving, communication and relationship-building skills.

Conditions

Hybrid working with at least 3 days in the office.

On-site parking, and an office close to public transport and the Metro.

Field travel as needed, including occasional interstate trips, to help resellers understand today's complex technologies.

The company welcomes people from diverse backgrounds.
