Platform Engineer/Architect, Journeyman

Description

The company is a fast-growing business that supports the DoD and other intelligence agencies worldwide, building mission-critical national security systems that serve warfighters, DoD leadership and the country.

This is a Platform Engineer/Architect, Journeyman role providing platform engineering, Tier 3 technical support and infrastructure maintenance for the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE) JWICS classified enclave. The work centres on troubleshooting, supporting new technology rollouts, keeping technical documentation current and meeting DoD cybersecurity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Give platform engineering support to the DFAS CCE JWICS classified enclave.
• Work Tier 3 DFASNow tickets from intake through resolution, and record the essential and material details in DFASNow.
• Help implement and test new technologies.
• Maintain engineering network configuration documentation.
• Take part in CCE infrastructure monitoring.
• Follow change control processes.
• Log each solution and the effort behind it in the ticketing system.
• Work with senior engineers on complex problems.
• Support COOP exercises and disaster recovery tests.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of systems engineering experience.
• Windows Server administration, with AZ-801 and AZ-802 certification.
• Security+ certification.
• Experience with JWICS or other classified network environments.
• Proficiency in administering Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience with VMware and Nutanix virtualization platforms.
• Knowledge of MECM, SCOM and other Microsoft management tools.
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and DFASNow.
• An understanding of DoD security requirements.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related field.
• Security+ or an equivalent DoD-approved IAT Level II certification.
• Preferred: CISSP certification, which can serve as an upgrade path.
• Preferred: prior JWICS administration experience.
• Preferred: Azure administrator certification.
• Preferred: experience with DFAS systems.
• Preferred: knowledge of DISA STIGs and system hardening.
• Preferred: scripting in PowerShell or Bash.

Conditions

An active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) clearance is required.

United States citizenship is required to be considered.
