Description

The company supports the Force Protection System family of systems under the IBD-SS II program with sustainment engineering and product lifecycle management.

The team manages existing Urgent Capability Acquisition programs, and the work covers engineering direction, sustainment problem solving and the full life of each system.

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with 26,000 staff across 50+ countries, serving US government, defense and intelligence agencies with mission-ready work in AI, cloud, cyber and software development.

Responsibilities

  • Give technical direction to team members and plan, design and deliver systems engineering projects, with broad knowledge of systems integration and design.

  • Create and maintain documentation, and write and review engineering test plans and reports with test engineers and technical writers.
  • Work with the configuration manager to keep every system's product baseline current.
  • Review baseline designs for error and failure points, and analyse failed products to propose workable sustainment improvements.

  • Attend engineering review boards, prepare documents for the configuration control board and present engineering change proposals to it.
  • Address obsolescence with the IBD-SS logistics team.
  • Work with engineers, subject matter experts and technicians to fix equipment malfunctions and design flaws.
  • Work with engineering, training, logistics and operational support staff and government customers to improve operations, and give reach-back support on troubleshooting, maintenance, document distribution, sparing and system health reports.
  • Own the full life cycle of systems, with sustainment engineering as the main focus.
  • Support installed force protection systems by researching and reviewing designs, helping with procurement, cataloguing, installation and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in arts or science; years of relevant experience can be considered in place of the degree.
  • Bring 5+ years of related experience in engineering processes, product lifecycle, sustaining engineering, systems integration and systems design.
  • Be a US citizen.
  • Hold an active US Secret security clearance from day one, and keep it to remain on the contract.
  • Desired: QA/QC experience with physical configuration audits.
  • Desired: understanding of the engineering lifecycle from concept to divestment.
  • Desired: experience turning an engineering BOM into a service BOM for logistics.
  • Desired: knowledge of DoD systems, engineering requirements and DoD contracts.
  • Desired: strong technical writing, including standard operating procedures, field bulletins and maintenance plans.
  • Desired: experience preparing engineering change proposals and technical data packages.
  • Desired: experience conducting Level of Repair Analysis on commercial off-the-shelf products.
  • Desired: prior work with screening and thermal imaging product lines, force protection, networking and computing, hydraulics, electronics, mechanics, camera technology and supporting software.

Travel is listed as 50-75% of the time, and travel may be required up to 50% within the continental US and overseas, depending on mission and customer needs.
