Description

The company builds education products used by about half a billion learners worldwide, with courses in language, chess, and math.

This role owns paid user growth, bringing new learners to the products across more than 100 markets.

You will help set the strategy and lead the team responsible for acquisition, and you will be accountable for acquiring high quality users at efficient cost and showing what that spend delivers.

You will work with the Performance Marketing leadership team to decide where investment goes next.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy for paid acquisition and own the goals for new users who stay and keep learning.
  • Lead and grow a team of performance marketers, holding them to high standards of craft, rigor, and ownership.
  • Run user acquisition on Google UAC, Meta, TikTok, AppLovin, programmatic partners, and China channels, deciding when to scale, hold, or cut back as efficiency shifts.
  • Measure what paid user growth actually drives using incrementality tests, saturation analysis, and new user quality measures such as retention.
  • Run creative testing at scale with agencies, creators, UGC, and in-house teams, and use the results to guide future production.
  • Manage agency and ad tech partners on goals, pacing, and execution quality.
  • Adjust spend alongside organic activity, working with Social, Brand, and Country Marketing around launches, seasonal changes, and viral moments.
  • Work with Product and Engineering on measurement infrastructure, paid user onboarding, and tests linking acquisition to retention.
  • Turn performance data into clear recommendations for marketing leadership, including what is underperforming.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in performance marketing or paid user acquisition, focused on large scale, global mobile acquisition.
  • At least 3 years leading teams of performance marketers.
  • A record of managing a large, multichannel performance budget and moving channels from testing to scale.
  • Hands-on experience with incrementality testing, saturation analysis, and LTV and ROAS models.
  • Solid understanding of the mobile acquisition ecosystem, including attribution technology and iOS privacy frameworks such as SKAN.
  • Experience working with Product and Engineering teams on performance marketing.
  • The judgment to recommend cutting or moving spend when returns do not justify it.
  • Clear, concise writing, from channel-level detail to leadership-level recommendations.
  • Exceptional candidates will have:
  • Experience leading user acquisition for a top subscription mobile app or a high engagement consumer app with millions of daily users.
  • Experience running acquisition in China or other markets with distinct ad ecosystems.
  • Experience growing users across several products or apps.
  • Experience scaling creative through UGC agencies, creator marketplaces, or creator networks.
  • A passion for making education universally accessible.
