Description

The team works on analysing and improving production operations at a semiconductor memory and storage manufacturer, where the goal is better facility use, higher manufacturing efficiency and consistent product quality.

The role builds systems for scheduling and real-time dispatch, line management, production metrics and reporting, statistical analysis and project management.

The role also includes analysing safety data to improve safety behaviour and processes on site.

Responsibilities

  • Build and upgrade scheduling and automation tools, covering applications, business rules, heuristics and algorithms, and their integration, so the fab can reach its Line of Sight goals.
  • Extend manufacturing simulation systems to make predictions more accurate and to support a wider range of scenario studies.
  • Run scenario studies on manufacturing with the simulation systems.
  • Advise line managers with technical expertise on linearity, cycle time, line yield, wafer starts and output.
  • Work with stakeholders to balance global line priorities against local area optimisation.
  • Help with facility optimisation and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Take part in the weekly OI on-call rotation, covering critical OI issues around the clock, and provide first-level system support plus other on-call tasks set out in the OI on-call training document.
  • Share progress updates in good time, flag likely blockers, and make sure projects are prioritised and deliver on time against constraint dates and business needs.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Management or a closely related field.
  • Design and deliver software solutions.
  • Apply agile methods to software development.
  • Apply data mining techniques to industrial problems and to relational databases.
