Description

You will be the day-to-day operating lead for the AI product development lifecycle (PDLC) working group, overseeing pod work while managing at program level.

You are the main contact for escalations about program delivery and for senior stakeholders.

You will set up governance, define and deliver key AI PDLC initiatives, and keep every pod working within the program's strategy.

You will interact with managing directors regularly.

The role is part of the project and program management job family.

Responsibilities

  • Set up governance that follows the PM taxonomy, and adjust it as requirements change.
  • Run all pod meetings, covering cadence, agendas, takeaways and action tracking.
  • Keep work aligned with the approved engagement strategy.
  • Define program objectives and build the structure and controls needed to deliver them.
  • Send RAG status updates to executive sponsors and the operating committee, and handle escalations.
  • Build executive progress dashboards from plan and risk analysis.
  • Set direction and keep the pace up through clear communication.
  • Record lessons learned and share good practice across the team.
  • Keep the consolidated RAID log current, and make sure risks and issues are escalated and mitigated on time.
  • Challenge status reports to surface risk and check accuracy.
  • Look for ways to reduce risk by simplifying work, and carry out full impact assessments.
  • Build strong working relationships with managing directors and senior program stakeholders.
  • Manage, mentor and coach team members, and spot high performers.
  • Own the program resourcing plan and escalate to senior leadership when needed.
  • Hold yourself and the team accountable for deliverables and keep people engaged.
  • Use enterprise program management tools to plan work, track milestones, manage dependencies and monitor delivery on complex initiatives.
  • Keep project records accurate in tracking systems, including status, risks, issues, decisions and actions.
  • Use tracking data to produce clear reports for senior stakeholders and flag delays or risks that need escalation.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years managing complex projects or programs using a structured methodology.
  • Lead complex programs independently within larger initiatives, at medium to high risk and across a line of business.
  • Guide, influence and direct people in a matrix structure toward shared goals.
  • Solve complex problems and turn incomplete or conflicting inputs into practical action plans.
  • Drive change and show strong team leadership and the ability to mobilize people.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification, or obtained within 1 year.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: experience managing AI/ML or digital transformation programs in financial services.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI PDLC governance and POD-based delivery structures.
  • Preferred: experience working with operating committees and executive governance bodies.
  • Preferred: proficiency in Agile, SAFe or hybrid delivery methods.
  • Preferred: experience with the company's PM tools: Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and MS Project.
