News Graphic Designer

Description

The company is a television broadcaster with stations in many markets. Its centralized corporate graphics hub, HTV Design, is based in Winter Park, FL, and produces daily news graphics and selected custom projects for every market.

You will work with design colleagues, assignment desk editors, station producers and newsrooms, and report to the News Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Build daily news graphics from existing templates in response to requests from stations.
• Create custom 2D and 3D animations for news and promotional use across stations when assigned.
• Follow the HTV Graphics Style Guide closely.
• Collaborate closely, work hands on, and focus on results.
• Develop working relationships with news departments at every HTV station.
• Work nights, weekends and holidays when scheduled.

Requirements

• Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite for still and motion design, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
• Ability to produce high quality work within the limits of the technical infrastructure and the company Graphics Style Guide.
• Exceptional visual, conceptual and graphic design skills, with a solid grounding in typography, color theory, photography, layout, and 2D and 3D animation.
• A portfolio that shows awareness of current industry trends and techniques.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to deliver innovative, high quality artwork on schedule while providing strong customer service.
• Experience with Cinema 4D and Vizrt is a plus.
• Knowledge of video editing and timeline work is a plus.
• Related military experience will be considered.

Conditions

Work is performed in person at the HTV Design hub in Winter Park, FL.

Shift work includes nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
