Responsibilities

  • Build, upkeep and improve the EDA tools, design flows and methods used for CMOS design and verification.
  • Investigate bugs and performance issues in internal and commercial EDA software on Linux and Unix, and provide production support.
  • Work with design, layout and process teams to find and fix problems in workflows, automation and tool integration.
  • Write and update technical documentation, and train and support engineers who use the tools.
  • Use AI-assisted tools where they fit, to speed up development, automate workflows and improve design enablement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or a closely related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Solid programming and software development background, with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux or Unix, including shell scripting and automation.
  • Clear written and spoken communication, and the ability to work across engineering teams.
  • Ability to learn and apply AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with AI, including building agentic AI.
  • Preferred: programming in Python and SKILL.
  • Preferred: academic or industry background in VLSI, IC design, semiconductor design methods, or CAD/EDA tools.
  • Preferred: experience with schematic capture, physical layout, simulation, verification or related design flows.
  • Preferred: understanding of CMOS trade-offs across area, performance and power.
  • Preferred: experience building, supporting or improving EDA design flows, automation or engineering infrastructure.
