Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer - Account Integrity - Java, React

You will join the Account Integrity team as a senior full-stack engineer, a high-impact role with a strong product focus. The work involves complex adversarial problems that protect the company's customers worldwide.

The team sits on the front line against financial crime. It combines machine learning, real-time transaction monitoring and data analysis to build controls and detection capabilities.

The team is working toward a globally scalable fraud prevention engine that stops scams and account takeovers, using leading-edge controls and detection.

Responsibilities

• Continuously improve the financial crime prevention infrastructure and build customer-facing controls.
• Take end-to-end ownership of projects that deliver measurable gains in customer security.
• Build and refine controls that stop account takeovers.
• Work full-stack with Product and Design to create customer-facing controls that are easy to use.
• Work with data scientists and data analysts to strengthen detection capabilities.
• Help secure customers' money, raise automation levels to speed up product growth, and help build a world-class money transfer product.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Java or another JVM language, including the Spring framework.
• Experience building and designing scalable web applications that handle heavy traffic. React frontends with JavaScript or TypeScript are preferred.
• Proven experience designing and running CI/CD pipelines, distributed systems and concurrent systems.
• A strong product mindset, a sense of accountability, and the ability to drive projects independently with data-driven decisions that keep the customer in mind.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimisation and designing resilient schemas.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, sharp problem-solving skills, and a commitment to test-driven development and good coding practices.
• Clear communication skills to explain complex technical ideas to Product, Data Science and Investigations teams.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
• Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, feature engineering and deploying ML systems into production.
