Description

The company makes memory and storage products. Its CAD Engineering group improves the tools, infrastructure and methods engineers use to design next-generation memory and semiconductor products.

The group works with design, technology, IT, data science and EDA partners to raise engineering productivity and add automation to global design environments.

This senior role is based in San Jose, California. You will run strategic programs that modernize CAD tools and design flows and speed up practical use of AI and machine learning.

You will turn complex technical ideas into workable roadmaps, align global teams, and carry initiatives from proof of concept to production, adoption and measurable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end CAD and AI programs, covering roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, people, risks, oversight and delivery across several workstreams at once.
  • Lead the development, integration, migration and rollout of CAD tools, design flows, methods, EDA platforms and infrastructure for HBM, DRAM, NAND and newer memory technologies.
  • Scope and deliver AI and ML-based CAD and design automation, such as design-space exploration, predictive verification, layout optimization, generative AI copilots and automated debug.
  • Set program success measures and track productivity, cycle time, quality, cost and return on investment, while supporting responsible AI practices for data governance, security, IP protection and model lifecycle management.
  • Bring CAD engineering, design, process technology, IT/HPC, data science, EDA vendors and executive stakeholders into agreement, and drive the organizational change needed for adoption.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related technical field.
  • Have 12+ years in the semiconductor, EDA or high-tech industry, including 6+ years in technical program or project management.
  • Have led complex, varied engineering programs from concept through delivery in quick-moving technical environments.
  • Have a solid grasp of CAD and EDA tools, semiconductor design flows, and how semiconductor products are developed.
  • Have hands-on exposure to AI and ML concepts and their use in engineering or automation, plus strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and technical interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: a master's degree in engineering or computer science, an MBA, or PMP, PgMP, SAFe or Agile/Scrum certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience with DRAM or NAND development and EDA platforms such as Cadence, Synopsys or Siemens EDA, including HPC compute, license management and flow automation.
  • Preferred: experience shipping production AI/ML or generative AI solutions, such as MLOps, data pipelines, LLM-based tools or AI-enabled CAD and design automation.
  • Preferred: solid knowledge of Python, C++, Tcl or Perl, and experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Project or Power BI.
  • Preferred: experience managing EDA vendors or strategic technology partners and driving technology adoption across global, multi-site engineering teams.
