New College Grad - Data Scientist, AI for Business Functions

Description

The company makes semiconductor memory and storage products, and its AI for Business Functions group applies data science, machine learning, advanced analytics and AI tools to business problems in Finance, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations.

The team turns data into insights, builds intelligent tools and supports data-driven decisions through forecasting, optimization and AI.

This is an internship. You will work alongside business partners and experienced data scientists to build analytical solutions for practical problems, using statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization and generative AI to analyze data and inform strategic decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

• Work with business partners to pin down their needs and build data-driven answers to hard problems.
• Build predictive models, forecasts, machine learning algorithms and statistical analyses.
• Dig through large datasets for trends, patterns, risks and opportunities worth acting on.
• Use generative AI, LLMs, optimization methods and simulations to sharpen decisions and improve results.
• Create charts, reports and presentations that explain your findings and recommendations to partners.

Requirements

• Have 0 to 2 years of relevant experience from coursework, internships, research, academic projects, hackathons or data competitions.
• Be currently enrolled in or recently finished a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, AI, Engineering or another quantitative field, or have equivalent experience.
• Have used Python and common analytics libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar.
• Understand statistical modeling, machine learning, data mining, visualization and analytical problem solving.
• Have used SQL and AI-enabled tools, including generative AI and LLMs, for data analysis, insights or solution work.
• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure or similar.
• Preferred: familiarity with predictive analytics, forecasting, optimization, simulation or machine learning solution development.
• Preferred: experience applying generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI agents or AI-assisted analytics in business settings.
• Preferred: knowledge of visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly or similar.
• Preferred: strong communication, presentation and partner engagement skills, and the ability to turn technical results into business recommendations.

Conditions

This is an internship position.
