Description

The company is a global technology provider that helps manufacturers become more productive, sustainable, and agile. It has over 28,000 employees and is growing.

You will join the Plex Cloud Operations department as a member of the Network and Firewall team, which supports the networks behind the product's private and public cloud.

The team wants an engineer who likes automation and infrastructure as code and who builds resilience and redundancy into every solution while helping secure and scale the product.

Responsibilities

  • Run and support networking across private datacenters and public cloud, mainly Azure, covering routing, firewalls, WAN links, and overlay networks.
  • Support network and remote connectivity hardware and software for internal and external customers.
  • Manage and troubleshoot highly available ISP circuits, multi-homed BGP designs, datacenter interconnects, DCI, and SD-WAN across several regions.
  • Investigate root causes and help write process and procedure documentation.
  • Maintain and grow the next-generation firewall rule base so access stays least-privilege across public and private zones.
  • Project work: structured cabling, replacing physical infrastructure on its lifecycle, network and application security, monitoring with alerting and auto remediation, and building public cloud (mainly Azure) and private cloud networks with infrastructure as code and GitOps tools.
  • Support certificate lifecycle management and PKI operations in Keyfactor.
  • Support privileged access management and credential hygiene in Keeper Security.
  • Support, improve, and maintain network and system monitoring tools.
  • Take part in the on-call rotation.
  • Rotate through the scheduled monthly maintenance windows, held on the second Sunday of each month, usually 3 to 4 per year.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Preferred: at least 2 years of enterprise infrastructure experience.
  • Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible.
  • Preferred: experience with Git-based workflows such as GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Preferred: experience with BGP, MP-BGP, and EVPN in production datacenters, including overlay and underlay designs. Vendor-neutral experience is acceptable, Arista included.
  • Preferred: experience with certificate management, PKI concepts, and tools such as Keyfactor.
  • Preferred: experience with privileged access management or enterprise password vaulting tools such as Keeper Security.
  • Preferred: familiarity with identity and access management platforms such as Okta.
  • Preferred: a basic understanding of prompt engineering.
  • Preferred: ability to lift 40 lbs, stand on a ladder for long stretches, and crawl into tight spaces.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with Azure, Terraform, Ansible, Elastic, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, Arista DMF or similar packet capture technology, NetFlow/IPFIX, Wireshark, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Keyfactor PKI, Keeper Security, Okta, Jira, Confluence, Windows Server, Ubuntu, VMware, SNMP, and LibreNMS.
