Description

The team designs, builds and maintains customer infrastructure, and often builds non-standard networking solutions to meet client needs on short timelines.

The role covers the full networking lifecycle and gives hands-on work in major cloud providers as well as traditional on-premises networks.

Because the team also runs operations and maintenance for the solutions it builds, the engineer will take part in periodic on-call duty.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement routing and switching solutions for on-premises environments.
  • Design and implement cloud-native networking in AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and performance problems.
  • Secure on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain complex firewall rulesets and zone-based controls on Juniper SRX and Cisco ASA platforms.
  • Design, build and troubleshoot IPSec solutions.
  • Monitor network health and availability with tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Explain designs and issues clearly to the team, leadership and stakeholders, and produce thorough documentation and drawings.

Requirements

  • Strong routing and switching knowledge at the level expected of certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
  • Substantial experience configuring and maintaining firewalls.
  • Substantial experience producing network designs and maintaining networks, including break-fix work and software updates.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud networking in at least one of AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Strong analytical skills: you can spot issues, find root causes and build practical fixes.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex systems and applications to team members, senior management and customers.
  • Strong teamwork skills: you offer creative ideas and can agree on the best option as a team.
  • Substantial experience troubleshooting cloud, network infrastructure, security and IPSec issues, and resolving them quickly.
  • Foundational user-level Linux knowledge.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with Full Poly security clearance.
  • You must be willing to travel up to 5%, both within the continental US (CONUS) and outside it (OCONUS).
