DevOps Lead with Telco experience

Description

You will manage the full life of software applications, from rollout and monitoring through upkeep and tuning, so they meet business needs and return real value.

The role supports a strategic telecoms client. You will work with colleagues in Romania and with others across the company.

You will lead technically, make reasoned calls when situations are complex or unclear, and own key technical results.

Responsibilities

• Design and set up network, security and cloud infrastructure.
• Build, provision and maintain test environments and lab IT services.
• Provision, configure and troubleshoot large-scale RAN platforms and infrastructure.
• Write and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code, using tools such as Terraform.
• Guide and advise the wider team on technical matters.
• Keep operations stable, resolve incidents and keep environments reliable.
• Diagnose infrastructure and test-tool faults through ticket-based support.
• Run test environment pooling and cluster verification on large systems.
• Track system performance and introduce changes that improve efficiency and lower running costs.
• Ensure infrastructure and cloud environments meet security and compliance rules.
• Plan capacity and allocate resources so infrastructure assets are used well.
• Coach and grow team members, encouraging continuous learning and high technical standards.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and vendors, keeping service delivery and escalation routes working.
• Record infrastructure setups, processes and runbooks so knowledge can be passed on.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in the telecoms industry.
• At least 3 years of recent hands-on work provisioning, integrating and troubleshooting large-scale RAN platforms.
• Solid grasp of networking, including IP protocols, routing and firewall design.
• Advanced Linux administration skills, including system commands and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Thorough knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Substantial knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) principles and uses.
• Proven experience with radio emulators, including DICE, C1, L1BP, C2RS/MIB and CTX platforms.
• Verified experience validating and verifying clusters on large-scale systems.
• Established experience designing and running cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• Advanced experience using Kubernetes to orchestrate and manage containers.
• Strong skills in solving complex problems and troubleshooting systematically.
• Proven ability to explain technical ideas clearly and work across multidisciplinary teams.
