Network Engineer (Req #1430)

Description

The company is hiring a network engineer with 6 to 10 years of experience to support enterprise and data center networks.

Ideal candidates bring deep knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, NVIDIA/Mellanox InfiniBand, routing and switching, and large-scale network architectures.

The team delivers technology solutions to customers, and this role keeps those networks running.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and fix enterprise and data center networks.
• Work on Cisco and Juniper routing and switching gear.
• Set up and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
• Maintain large-scale data center designs, including spine-leaf and VXLAN.
• Handle network configuration changes, migrations, upgrades, and fault repairs.
• Diagnose performance, connectivity, routing, and switching problems.
• Partner with server, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure teams.
• Be on site for data center rollouts and network implementation work.
• Help with cabling, port connections, labeling, and installing and checking hardware.
• Support VMware networking and how it connects to enterprise and data center infrastructure.
• Write and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of hands-on network engineering work.
• Solid background in Cisco Enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience with Juniper networking platforms.
• Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VXLAN.
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching skills.
• Experience with NVIDIA/Mellanox InfiniBand networking, including switches, fabric configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of data center and large-scale network architectures.
• Working knowledge of VMware networking and virtualization.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional infrastructure teams.
• Willing to travel to customer and data center sites when needed.
• Hands-on work with physical networking, hardware validation, cabling, and deployments may be required.

Conditions

The role is based in the Bay Area.

Travel to customer and data center locations is required as needed.

The initial base salary is expected to be $150,000 to $170,000 per year.

The final base salary depends on job knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Variable pay comes through commissions tied to individual sales results, which can increase earnings substantially.

Employment is at-will, and the company may change base salary and any other discretionary pay or compensation program at any time, based on individual or team performance and market factors.
