Senior Network Engineer - AVP

Description

The role builds and runs the company's global network platforms and connectivity products across data center, core, campus, branch and edge environments.

The aim is infrastructure that stays reliable, scalable and secure, built with software engineering methods, automation and strong incident response.

The company is modernising its network, moving toward automation, DevOps and product-led delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run network platforms and connectivity products across data center, core, campus, branch and edge.
• Act as technical authority, shaping network architecture and design and guiding delivery across several workstreams.
• Deliver modern, resilient network platforms that meet business, regulatory and operational needs.
• Build and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions, choosing suitable technologies for business, cost and resourcing needs.
• Monitor infrastructure and performance, find and fix faults, vulnerabilities and outages, and use data to cut mean time to resolution.
• Write scripts and code to automate tasks, reducing manual work and improving efficiency.
• Apply secure configurations and controls to guard hardware, software and data against attacks and unauthorised access.
• Work with product managers, architects and engineers to define requirements and integrate solutions with business goals, guided by data.
• Track industry trends and contribute to internal technology communities.
• Lead a team on complex work: set objectives, coach people, review performance and decide rewards.
• Advise on decisions, help shape policy, own operational effectiveness and risk controls, and influence stakeholders.
• Advise people leaders on escalated issues and develop policies and procedures for control and governance.

Requirements

• Hands-on delivery experience on enterprise networks, covering BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, multicast, QoS, MPLS, private circuits, metro Ethernet and segmentation.
• Substantial experience designing and running modern data center environments, including spine-leaf, VXLAN/EVPN, DCI, ACI and DWDM.
• Extensive experience designing advanced data networks on Cisco, Arista, Fortinet and F5 platforms.
• Proven record of designing and running enterprise Wi-Fi and SD-WAN.
• Established track record delivering large data networks end to end across LAN, MAN, WAN, data center, wireless, extranet and branch.
• Highly valued: understanding of resiliency and traffic engineering, including redundancy, segmentation, firewall integration and traffic optimisation.
• Highly valued: experience with AI-driven automation and Python.
• Highly valued: ability to assess and improve platform availability.
• Highly valued: hands-on network automation with Cisco NSO, Ansible and/or Python, focused on consistency, scale and lower risk.
• Highly valued: experience designing and supporting enterprise connectivity to AWS and/or Azure, including hybrid architectures, routing integration and secure connection patterns.

Conditions

Based in the company's Whippany, NJ office.

Base salary range is $120,000 to $175,000, excluding other compensation and benefits.
