Member of Technical Staff - Cloud Operations

Description

The company is hiring a Member of Technical Staff for cloud operations. The role covers designing, hardening, automating and running cloud environments that serve global engineering and business teams.

You will work alongside engineering, security and platform colleagues in different regions, leading technical projects that make the platform more reliable, secure and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, secure and run cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, GCP, or a combination of them.
• Write infrastructure as code with Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, AWS CDK, CloudFormation or a comparable tool to automate infrastructure and routine operations.
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines on GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Build security checks into every development stage, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning and controls for infrastructure code.
• Develop automation and internal operations tools in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go or a similar scripting language.
• Work with IAM, credential management, encryption, subnetting, routing and VPNs.
• Administer Linux and Windows systems, with most of your hands-on work on Linux.
• Lead cross-team cloud and security projects that improve reliability, security and efficiency, and bring AI into operating practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, IT operations or a related area.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture and hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Proven track record with cloud deployment, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Solid skills in systems administration, networking, Linux and cloud security.
• Strong analysis, communication, problem solving and stakeholder work, with the ability to lead initiatives across global teams without close supervision.
• Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• A plus: experience with artificial intelligence technologies or AI-enabled cloud operations.

Conditions

Pay is $110,000 to $140,000 CAD, plus an annual incentive plan bonus. The final figure depends on education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities and internal equity.
