Manager, Software Engineering

Description

The company is a market leader in online casino and sports betting. It runs real-money gaming under several brands and is building links between online, social and land-based gaming so players stay engaged across formats.

The team is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to lead and grow a high-performing engineering group. You will combine people leadership with technical direction and own delivery, quality and operational results. The role works across functions, handles risk, and pushes continuous improvement in a team that stays inclusive.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop engineers, give feedback, manage performance, and build a strong team.
• Lead or take part in cross-functional delivery teams, keeping planning, execution and collaboration with engineering, product and other business areas on track toward shared goals.
• Own quality, operational excellence, follow-up after incidents, and ongoing improvement.
• Track status and use metrics and stakeholder updates to show team performance and delivery progress.
• Anticipate delivery risks, dependencies and operational problems, and act on them early.
• Review current and future workload and team capacity, and align staffing and hiring plans with business priorities.
• Advocate for engineering standards, scalable solutions and systems thinking to sharpen problem solving and the effectiveness of the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years in software engineering, software delivery, or a related technical role, including leading engineers, technical initiatives, or cross-functional delivery.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile or iterative delivery setting.
• Experience running software development lifecycles, managing stakeholders, planning delivery, and leading operational excellence initiatives (preferred).
• Strong people leadership, including coaching, performance management, employee development, and team building.
• Skill at balancing competing priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Working knowledge of software architecture, APIs, distributed systems, operational practices, and delivery lifecycles.
• Experience using metrics and data to improve delivery, quality and operational performance.
• Clear communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to spot systemic issues and build lasting fixes.
• Occasional travel within the country and abroad.

Conditions

The role is hybrid.

Travel is occasional and may be domestic or international.
