Lead Software Engineer

Description

The company is a global data and technology firm working across financial services, healthcare, automotive, agribusiness, insurance and other markets, with about 25,200 people in 32 countries.

The role sits on the Tools Engineering team, which is moving legacy.NET applications to React, TypeScript and modern.NET services. It is an AI-forward position where you will help the team use AI-assisted engineering responsibly and keep the applications running after the move.

You will report to the Software Engineering Manager and must live in or near Franklin, TN.

The company asks hub-area hires to collaborate with colleagues in person, which supports team connection and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the move of legacy ASP.NET applications to React, TypeScript and modern.NET APIs.
• Build applications with existing React components, Material UI (MUI) and shared design standards.
• Use Cursor and Claude to speed up development, testing and code modernization.
• Set standards for secure, reliable AI-assisted development and code review.
• Guide architecture, development, troubleshooting and mentoring, and write production code yourself.
• Define frontend and backend standards covering APIs, security, performance and automated testing.
• Work with product, architecture, security and engineering teams on modernization work.
• Oversee the reliability, upkeep and ongoing development of the applications and supporting services.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience with C and the Microsoft.NET ecosystem.
• At least 2 years using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor and Claude for code generation, refactoring, testing and code review.
• Experience building and modernizing applications in legacy ASP.NET and modern.NET or ASP.NET Core.
• Hands-on React development, including frontend architecture and API integration.
• Experience designing REST APIs and service-based applications, and modernizing enterprise applications incrementally.
• Experience leading technically through design, coding, code reviews and mentoring.
• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, source control and application security.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role based in or near Franklin, TN, with in-person collaboration expected.

Pay falls within the listed base range, set by work location, skills, experience and education, and the role is eligible for variable pay.
