Description

You will own the strategy and roadmap for the eCare NEXT platform behind the company's healthcare revenue cycle products, covering Eligibility, Demographics, RQA, Medical Necessity, Notice of Admission, Authorizations, Patient Financial Clearance, and Patient Estimates.

You will steer the workflow engine, integrations, and data pipeline that link systems and set how data is transformed, checked against business rules, and passed to downstream products. You will lead a dedicated engineering team and work alongside the product teams that rely on the platform.

The company works in person with people in its hub locations, so you will need to live in or near one of them: Costa Mesa, CA; San Jose, CA; Allen, TX; Austin, TX; Franklin, TN; New York, NY; Schaumburg, IL; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; or Seattle, WA. You will report to the Lead Product Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Set the product strategy and roadmap for the workflow engine, system integrations, and data pipeline.
  • Map end-to-end data flows: how data enters, is validated and transformed, how rules and conditions decide routing and state changes, where failures or exceptions happen, and how results affect downstream products.
  • Rank the engineering backlog and platform investments using analytics and evidence-based business cases, weighing roadmap outcomes, integration requests, reliability, technical debt, and production issues.
  • Work hands-on with engineers through discussion, prototyping, and feedback to shape platform work. Keep Jira items, requirements, and acceptance criteria clear enough to guide the build and confirm results.
  • Direct the dedicated engineering team's delivery by setting priorities, settling trade-offs, and reviewing work until it is complete.
  • Be the main contact for consuming product teams. Manage intake, assess change requests, and explain priorities and trade-offs.
  • Run discovery sessions, demos, and roadmap reviews with internal product teams and health-system clients to learn their needs and test changes.
  • Prototype integration and workflow ideas with AI tools, and move platform changes through the company's compliance, data-protection, and regulatory processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product management experience, including owning a product area from strategy through delivery.
  • Experience leading an engineering team and owning a roadmap and backlog.
  • Skill in analysing end-to-end data flows and workflow behaviour across systems, including validation, transformation, rule logic, and how failures or dependencies affect downstream outcomes.
  • Experience with healthcare IT, system integrations, or back-end platforms that serve several product teams. EHR or EMR integration experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7, X12, or FHIR, and of HIPAA data-protection rules.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Cursor or Claude to explore or prototype product ideas with engineers.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A technical background is a plus.
  • Live in or near a designated collaboration hub for this role.

Conditions

Pay is set by work location and factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education, within the base range shown for the role across several US geographic markets.

The role is hybrid. You may also be eligible for variable pay.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all protected groups, including veterans and people with disabilities. Ask for accommodation at the earliest opportunity if you need it.

Benefits

  • A competitive pay package and bonus plan.
  • Core benefits: medical, dental, and vision, plus a 401(k) with employer matching.
  • Flexible work options: remote, hybrid, or in-office.
  • Flexible time off, including volunteer time off, vacation, sick leave, and 12 paid holidays.
