Description

The role is a Lead Software Engineer position that sets technical direction for a focused product or platform area. You will work through hard engineering problems, guide others on code, design and architecture, and lift engineering standards across the team. The job combines hands-on delivery with technical leadership, mentoring, and long-term work on the quality and resilience of the systems.

Tasks include building and deploying applications across the full software lifecycle with strong performance, security and scale.

Also involves designing and evolving distributed cloud systems, focusing on resilience, observability and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy applications across every stage of the software lifecycle, with high performance, security and scalability.
  • Architect and evolve distributed systems in cloud environments, focusing on resilience, observability and efficient operations.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated, smooth delivery and high-quality releases.
  • Work on API development, integration patterns and service-to-service communication.
  • Use modern infrastructure tooling, including Azure, containers, dev containers and IaC, to support fast, reliable deployments.
  • Apply your knowledge of Data Lake (ideally Delta), Change Data Feed, mirroring, AKS, events and Microsoft Fabric to shape solution architecture and delivery.
  • Lead hands-on by supporting engineers through code reviews, design walkthroughs and architecture discussions.
  • Raise quality by promoting best practices, improving reusability and cutting duplication across the platform.
  • Own delivery of critical platform capabilities and give clear technical direction.
  • Take ownership of operational issues, respond quickly to incidents, and use data and feedback to improve reliability.
  • Advocate for secure, safe delivery across software, infrastructure and platform layers.
  • Examine trade-offs in depth, clear blockers, and build resilience into team systems and practices from the start.
  • Use data, metrics and experiments to test assumptions and guide design choices.
  • Encourage data-driven decisions within the team to support innovation and improvement.
  • Promote new engineering methods, challenge outdated practices, and drive change across teams.
  • Invest in growth, your own and the team's, through coaching, feedback and technical guidance.
  • Explain design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, building shared understanding that speeds delivery.

Requirements

  • Show a proven record of designing and implementing complex distributed systems at scale.
  • Be strong in C#, comfortable with both object-oriented and functional patterns.
  • Know Python as a secondary language for automation, tooling or data workflows.
  • Have hands-on experience with Spark SQL, PostgreSQL and core data engineering patterns.
  • Have expertise in Microsoft Azure, modern cloud infrastructure and dev-container workflows.
  • Understand API design, integration patterns and secure service-to-service communication well.
  • Apply domain knowledge to guide team-level decisions, improve architecture and keep things consistent.
  • Guide and mentor peers in coding quality, architectural thinking and engineering practice.
  • Influence decisions through hands-on leadership rather than seniority.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, learning, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Design with an understanding of how systems behave in real customer use.
  • Think about the customer impact of your work and use feedback to guide decisions.

Conditions

The anticipated annual gross base salary is 265,000 zł to 419,000 zł, and it may vary by geographic location.
