Description

The company is a Canadian digital automotive business whose brands help Canadians buy, sell and finance vehicles.

Its software helps dealerships draw in shoppers, turn interest into sales and run their operations. This portfolio covers dealer websites and online shopping tools that link vehicle research to the next steps of a purchase.

The role owns strategy, roadmap and performance as the portfolio becomes one ecommerce experience for shoppers and the dealerships that buy the software.

You will manage the product team while also running discovery and defining requirements yourself, working with Engineering, Design and commercial teams.

The company is part of a European group that operates Europe's largest online car marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Set the direction for the portfolio: vision, priorities and roadmap, weighing shopper needs, dealer results, revenue growth and platform investment.
  • Own the full shopping path, from searching and filtering stock and reading vehicle pages to trade-ins, financing, appointments, deposits and passing leads to dealership staff. Cut drop-off on mobile and desktop.
  • Run research and tests, including shopper and dealer interviews, funnel analysis, usability sessions and A/B experiments, to confirm ideas and lift qualified leads and step completion.
  • Gather and check customer, business and technical needs yourself. Write user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows, keep a ranked backlog, and work with Engineering, Design and QA from refinement through release and post-launch checks, settling gaps and dependencies early.
  • Work with Engineering and Design to improve speed, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, accessibility and reliability, balancing new features against the stability customers rely on.
  • Grow content management, merchandising and configuration for single dealers, dealer groups and manufacturers (OEMs), using reusable features to meet program needs.
  • Coordinate with inventory, pricing, incentive, CRM, marketplace and financing integrations so information stays accurate and the journey stays consistent.
  • Guide consolidation, staged launches and dealer migrations while protecting customer experience, search visibility, lead flow and reporting.
  • Define and track conversion, lead quality, adoption, retention, recurring revenue and operating efficiency. Work with Sales, Marketing and Customer Success on packaging, launch readiness and growth.
  • Lead the product team by setting responsibilities and expectations, coaching, reviewing work, and managing performance and development. Align cross-functional groups and report priorities, trade-offs, risks and progress to executives, customers and partners.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in product management, with real ownership of customer-facing ecommerce or transactional website products.
  • Ecommerce and website product work is essential.
  • You have shipped and improved shopping flows such as search, merchandising, product pages, forms, checkout or other high-intent steps, with measurable gains for customers and the business.
  • A solid grasp of mobile UX, CMS platforms, technical SEO, page speed, Core Web Vitals and accessibility, and how each affects discovery and conversion.
  • Hands-on skill with qualitative research, web analytics such as GA4 or similar, event tracking, funnel analysis and A/B testing. You can tell real conversion and revenue gains apart from raw traffic or click gains.
  • You turn unclear customer and business problems into clear requirements, stories, acceptance criteria and delivery plans, and stay hands-on while balancing commitments, dependencies and commercial priorities.
  • Experience with APIs, inventory or catalogue data, pricing and third-party integrations. You can judge how architecture and data quality affect the product and help decide on modernization or migration.
  • Experience growing product people: setting expectations, giving feedback and managing performance. You lead complex cross-functional work, make trade-offs clear and communicate well with senior leaders and customers.
  • Commercial judgement that links product choices to adoption, retention, monetization and cost to serve, weighing consumer experience against the needs of business customers.
  • Asset: experience in automotive retail, digital retailing, marketplaces or B2B2C SaaS, including work across several customer sites, brands or enterprise partners.
  • Asset: WordPress or other CMS platforms, configurable website components, and migrations that keep SEO and customer workflows intact.
  • Asset: AI capabilities delivered and evaluated in search, recommendations, personalization or content, with clear customer value. Comfort using AI tools in your own work.
