The Analytics group at the company builds and ships its own methodologies, calculations and analytical tools that help investors assess investments and decide with confidence.
The Managed Investment Calculations team turns the company's research and intellectual property into accurate, scalable and consistent analytics used across its products.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and ongoing improvement of managed investment calculation capabilities as a product manager who brings both business analysis and data analysis skills.
Set the tactical roadmap and backlog for managed investment calculations, weighing new capabilities, methodology updates, data quality and platform work against each other.
Clarify user needs with product, research, operations and client support teams, judge business impact, and define scope and success criteria.
Work with methodology owners to document formulas, inputs, eligibility rules, calculation frequency, exceptions and expected outputs.
Use SQL and other analytical tools to examine datasets, check coverage and quality, map data sources, and trace dependencies and downstream effects.
Build calculation examples and check results independently, including edge cases, missing data, historical changes, and differences between fund structures and share classes.
Write user stories and acceptance criteria, answer implementation questions, and work with engineering and QA on test scenarios, regression coverage and release readiness.
Investigate discrepancies and production issues, find root causes, and rank fixes by their impact on investors, clients and the business.
Assess how methodology and implementation changes affect historical results and consuming products, coordinate stakeholder review, and keep approved methodologies traceable to production logic.
Maintain clear calculation documentation and support materials so global teams can explain the analytics and answer client questions.
Track calculation accuracy, timeliness, coverage and adoption, and communicate priorities, dependencies and delivery risks.

At least 3 years in product management, business analysis or data analysis, ideally in investment analytics, financial data or financial services.
Strong hands-on SQL skills and a record of analyzing complex datasets to validate results and investigate issues.
A proven ability to turn vague business needs and financial methodologies into precise requirements, calculation logic and acceptance criteria.
Working knowledge of managed investments, including mutual funds, ETFs, share classes, investment performance, risk, fees and peer group comparisons.
Fast at learning complex financial concepts, willing to question assumptions, and able to apply that understanding to data analysis and calculation requirements.
Experience specifying, prototyping or validating analytical calculations, with attention to data dependencies, exceptions and reproducibility.
Experience setting priorities or managing a backlog while working with engineering and QA across the development lifecycle.
Strong critical thinking and problem solving, including the ability to tell data issues apart from methodology or implementation issues.
Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
