Description

The company makes software that helps teams deliver complex capital projects for critical infrastructure faster.

The AI buildout is physical: data centers, power and the supply chains behind them. One hyperscale campus has an owner, a general contractor, dozens of trades, long-lead equipment suppliers, lenders and commissioning teams, each working from its own schedule and spreadsheets. Problems tend to reach the people who could fix them last, and for an AI data center a month of delay can cost tens of millions in lost revenue.

The company acts as a control tower. It links schedules, field progress and execution data across all parties, forecasts where delivery is heading, and helps teams act before a delay becomes a missed date. On one 15-project portfolio it found a project 245 days behind, cut reporting overhead by 90%, and helped prevent more than $100M in lost revenue.

Customers include top data-center owners, developers and general contractors worldwide, such as Crusoe, Applied Digital and NTT. The company raised a $25M Series A led by Macquarie Capital and is headquartered in New York.

Responsibilities

  • You'll be the company's first dedicated designer, defining how people build critical infrastructure with AI.
  • The company has helped owners and contractors deliver demanding projects since 2018, pairing its platform with deep delivery expertise. Now that expertise is being built into the software itself: data sources, platform UI, action tooling and agents, so an owner, a GC or a supplier can each see what matters and act on it.
  • Nobody has designed this kind of product before. Construction software was built for record-keeping, not for steering a $2B project in real time, and agentic software for the physical world has few established patterns. You'll create them.
  • You'll report to the Head of Product and work with founders, engineers and the delivery experts who meet customers every week. You'll set the design bar and, over time, help hire designers who raise it. For the first 6-12 months you'll be a hands-on generalist owning research, interaction design, visual design and the design system. As the team grows, you'll help hire and shape the next designers, with a path to leading the function if you want it.
  • Run discovery in the field with owner executives, project controls leads, GC planners and site teams. Learn where decisions really get made, what a sponsor does when something looks wrong, and why a signed project never goes live. Turn what you learn into problem framing the whole company can act on.
  • Prototype quickly in code using real project data with React, Cursor, Claude Code or whatever is fastest. Get prototypes in front of customers within days, not quarters, without needing engineering time.
  • Design the human-agent loop: decide what an agent flags, drafts or does alone, and when it asks a person. Make its output trustworthy enough that an owner will use it to challenge a contractor.
  • Design for many parties on one project. Owners, GCs, trades, suppliers and investors each need something different. Executives need a clear view of portfolio health, while project teams need tools that save them hours each week. Give every party a reason to engage and keep the whole project moving together.
  • Own product areas end to end, from the first customer conversation to production. Work alongside engineers and stay on after launch to see what changed.
  • Build the foundation: the design language, system and principles the company will scale on, with a bar that makes complex data feel calm and clear.

Requirements

  • 6+ years designing and shipping software, including complex B2B, data-heavy or enterprise products.
  • Excellent at discovery: you can run a messy customer conversation, find the real problem beneath the stated one, and change product thinking based on what you learn.
  • You prototype in code as a habit, building things customers can test without waiting on engineering, and you use AI coding tools every day.
  • You have designed for AI or automation and have clear views on trust, explainability and when software should act on its own.
  • You turn dense, ambiguous information into interfaces people understand in seconds.
  • You have been an early or sole designer and enjoyed it: setting standards, making decisions without a playbook and doing the unglamorous work too.
  • You hold strong opinions loosely and can bring engineers, sales and customers along.
  • You care about physical infrastructure getting built and want your work to show up in steel and concrete.
  • You enjoy designing for deep domain experts such as schedulers, project controls leads and construction executives who expect tools that respect their craft.
  • Bonus: experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, logistics or another industry where software meets the physical world.
  • Bonus: experience designing agent workflows that run in production.
  • None of these are required. Apply if the core of this role appeals to you.

Conditions

Total compensation of $200,000-230,000, based on experience, level and location.

Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO.

You must be based in the US. New York is preferred. Occasional travel to customer sites is required.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on any protected basis.

Benefits

  • You design for customers who are building right now, on deadlines measured in revenue per day.
  • First-designer scope on a product that already has paying customers, real data and a deep bench of delivery expertise.
  • Agentic software for physical infrastructure is barely established, and the patterns you set will become the standard.
  • A small, senior team that is flat, direct and light on process. People debate openly, decide quickly and ship.
