Director, Product Design

Description

The company makes an AI-driven observability and security platform that is changing quickly. It is hiring a seasoned design leader to keep shaping the products and set the direction for what comes next.

The products help engineering and security teams see, understand and act on what is happening in complex systems at scale. You will set the design direction for a product suite, build strong working relationships, and grow the talent and culture needed to deliver it. As AI changes how customers work and designers begin shipping code themselves, you will help define what good design looks like and how the team reaches it.

Responsibilities

• Set a clear product vision and agree roadmaps, metrics and goals with cross-functional peers.
• Hold the bar for product quality and give your team the room to meet it.
• Build, grow and lead a diverse, global design team.
• Change how the team designs and builds with AI.
• Work with other design leaders to improve the design organization's processes, tools and capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 12 years in product design, including 5+ years leading managers.
• A portfolio that shows design leadership, craft, end-to-end ownership and product excellence.
• A strong commitment to customers, with design choices backed by data and business context.
• Experience building complex products, ideally B2B SaaS.
• A working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and an interest in helping teams prototype in code and ship with AI.

Conditions

Hybrid work, based in New York.

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $232,000 - $290,000 USD.

Pay is based on skills, qualifications and experience, and the package may include variable compensation.
