Description

The team is bringing autonomy to construction, starting with excavators, so experienced crews can take on more projects safely.

Bedrock-equipped excavators began doing fully autonomous, paid work on live commercial job sites in August 2026. Since 2025 the customer base has more than doubled, and the machines now work with contractors across the South, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic.

In October 2026 the company raised a $600M Series C, co-led by CapitalG and Emergence Capital, bringing total funding to nearly $1B. The money will go toward more autonomous machines, field and operations teams for each deployment, and new machine types and job-site tasks.

The team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. You'll work with construction veterans and engineers on physical-world problems that simulations cannot capture.

The role focuses on the interface between people and the technology. As the system moves from the machine to the jobsite, you'll design tools that crews can read quickly and rely on.

Responsibilities

• Own Bedrock Intelligence as a product, covering dashboards, historical views, end-of-shift reports, alerts, data export, and multi-site rollups.
• Partner with product management and engineering from problem definition through to shipped UI.
• Design data visualization components such as charts, tables, and metric cards, and add them to the shared design system.
• Prototype in code and with AI tools, and ship UI through pull requests with engineers.
• As the platform grows, extend the work into fleet and operations tooling.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product design experience, including one shipped data-heavy B2B or operations product.
• Strong skills in data visualization and dashboard design, covering metrics, time series, tables, comparison views, and exports.
• Experience owning a product surface end to end alongside a PM and an engineering team.
• Comfort working within a shared design system and contributing components back to it.
• Comfort prototyping in code or with AI tools, since the design process runs through Claude and pull requests.
• Mobile app design experience.
• Motion and 3D design skills.
