Description

More than 200 product teams already make their own critical network infrastructure changes through APIs and command-line tools. The goal now is to make that experience better still.

The company is looking for a Lead Engineer for Network Namespace Management. You will help shape and grow the core network services, including DNS, DHCP and certificate management, delivered as self-service products. Teams will use them to make changes within their own areas. You will also help evolve vendor-agnostic data models for devices and identities, and apply site reliability practices so services stay highly available.

The Network Namespace Management team sits in the Network & Connectivity area of Digital Technology and runs mission-critical services for domain systems, network identity and core data models. The team works in a hybrid rhythm across several locations and disciplines. You will work with engineers across Digital Technology to help product teams own the products they build and run.

The team is international and based at the LEGO Campus in Billund. This position is at the Senior Manager Specialist Skyline level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the DNS, DHCP and certificate management capabilities offered as self-service products.
  • Build streamlined command-line interfaces and APIs for DNS, DHCP and certificate management, aiming to remove support requests from product teams.
  • Drive adoption of the APIs and CLIs across the organisation and reduce manual case handling.
  • Help evolve vendor-agnostic data models for network devices and identities so they stay scalable.
  • Apply site reliability principles to keep your scope of services highly available.
  • Advance domain name management, DDI, IP address management and secure device communication.
  • Balance stakeholder needs with user outcomes and help expand self-service capabilities over the next 12 to 18 months.
  • Mentor engineers, act as a technical role model and agree architecture before implementation begins.

Requirements

  • Experience developing API and CLI front ends that let product teams make DNS, DHCP or certificate management changes on their own.
  • Experience building and maintaining turn-key network services covering DNS, DHCP and certificate management.
  • Experience applying Kubernetes and site reliability engineering practices to always-on production services.
  • Deep experience with DNS, DHCP and certificate-management technologies.
  • Experience designing vendor-agnostic data models for network devices and identities.
  • Preferred: experience coordinating delivery of self-service infrastructure features used by more than 200 product teams.

Conditions

Hybrid work: you can work from home up to two days per week, and your People Leader will explain how this applies to your role and team.

Your workplace is the office specified in this advert, based at the LEGO Campus in Billund.
